Position - Chief Human Resources Officer for the Puretech Group
Location - Mumbai, with travel across India, as required
Reports To - One of the Group Founders
Puretech is a well-established integrated marketing communications group with 360 degree offerings spanning marketing analytics, brand strategy, social and digital media, influencer marketing, content, events and activation, media planning, and online response management.
The group has over 800 employees across multiple locations in the country, and three large offices in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, plus a large team of work-from-home employees, and consultants, both in India and overseas.
Group Transformation The Group is moving from a collection of three entrepreneurial businesses toward a more integrated, professionally managed entity with a common vision and values.
The transformation includes organisation redesign, leadership strengthening, integration of the three distinct entities with stronger performance management and the development of common systems, culture and governance across the Group.
The Group CHRO will therefore be a central architect of the transformation, helping the organisation attract and retain the requisite talent for the group’s ambitious plans over the next 3-5 years.
Role Specifics
This is a newly created Group CHRO mandate with responsibility for building the people, organisation and leadership architecture required as the Group scales through acquisitions, restructuring and international expansion. The role will report to one of the founders and will partner closely with group leadership,
as well as have significant visibility to the Board and senior stakeholders.
This is not a conventional HR operations role, instead it is a strategic role that will enable the group to attain its growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
Organisation Design, Group HR Processes, and Governance Systems
- Design Group HR architecture with accountabilities across corporate, business and shared-service structures.
- Build scalable people processes and governance to ensure integration, speed of decision-making, and flexibility.
- Strengthen HR systems, people analytics, policies and governance appropriate for a growing multibusiness group.
Leadership, Succession and Executive Hiring
- Own senior leadership hiring across CEO, CXO, business-head and critical specialist positions.
- Build succession plans and a strong second line beneath current leaders
- Develop a rigorous assessment framework for senior talent, including leadership capability, culture fit and integration readiness.
Transformation & Change Leadership
- Lead the people agenda for the broader transformation programme.
- Design and execute change-management interventions across businesses, functions and geographies.
- Create a shared culture that balances entrepreneurial ownership with stronger governance,
accountability and operating discipline.
Performance, Rewards & Talent
- Strengthen and integrate current performance management system
- Build leadership-development and high-potential programmes that strengthen retention and the Group succession bench.
- Ensure compensation and incentives are aligned to business performance.
Desired candidate profile
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with substantial exposure to Group-level or multi-business environments.
- A track record of leading organisation transformation, professionalisation and change rather than operating primarily as a transactional HR leader.
- Robust experience in senior executive hiring, succession, leadership assessment and building high performing leadership teams.
- Experience working closely with founders, Chairmen, CEOs and Boards in businesses undergoing rapid growth or restructuring.
- Experience in a consumer-facing, services, media, technology, professional services or similarly entrepreneurial environment would be valuable.

- Strategic and commercially minded HR leader with strong executive presence and judgement.
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders,maintaining trust and confidentiality.
- High energy and execution orientation, with the ability to move between strategy and detailed implementation.
- Strong interpersonal credibility, maturity and discretion in handling highly sensitive leadership matters.
Education
- MBA / postgraduate qualification in Human Resources
