With a strong foundation in Indian manufacturing, CIE is expanding its business development, marketing, and customer outreach capabilities to serve a growing market across India.

Role Description

This is a 3-month, on-site Business Development Internship based in Kolkata.

The intern will work closely with the business development and management team and gain hands-on exposure to B2B sales, lead generation, market research, client communication, and commercial operations.

Key responsibilities include

- Identifying and researching potential industrial and commercial customers
- Generating and qualifying business leads through online research, LinkedIn, email, WhatsApp, and telephone outreach
- Building and maintaining prospect and customer databases
- Understanding customer requirements and identifying relevant CIE products
- Following up with prospective customers and existing inquiries
- Assisting in preparing quotations, presentations, reports, and other commercial materials
- Conducting market and competitor research
- Supporting customer meetings,



product demonstrations, exhibitions, and other outreach activities
- Coordinating with sales, operations, and customer service teams
- Tracking leads, follow-ups, and business development activities
- Supporting new market and customer acquisition initiatives

This is a hands-on role, and the intern will have the opportunity to interact with real businesses and contribute directly to CIE's business development efforts.

Qualifications

- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Interest in business development, sales, marketing, or entrepreneurship
- Ability to conduct market research and identify potential business opportunities
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Comfortable communicating through email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and telephone
- Proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership
- Ability to work effectively in an on-site environment in Kolkata
- Interest in industrial products or electrical testing is beneficial, but prior industry experience is not required
