Role Purpose To ensure robust compliance oversight over the Bank’s asset-side portfolio, including lending products, credit exposures, and related regulatory reporting, in alignment with RBI regulations and internal compliance frameworks. The role focuses on monitoring adherence, identifying compliance gaps, and ensuring timely remediation.

Key Responsibilities

- Regulatory Compliance Oversight (Assets)
- Ensure adherence to RBI guidelines relating to asset products, including:
- Income Recognition, Asset Classification and Provisioning (IRAC) norms
- Large exposure framework and sectoral exposure limits
- Priority Sector Lending (PSL) requirements

- Provide compliance advisory to business teams on lending structures and asset products.
- Interpret and implement new regulatory developments impacting asset portfolios.
- Asset Portfolio Monitoring
- Monitor compliance of loan accounts and credit exposures with regulatory norms.
- Review deviations in:

- Asset classification
- Restructuring / resolution frameworks
- Interest application and provisioning practices

- Ensure consistency between system data and regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Reporting &

- Submissions
- Review and validate regulatory reports related to asset portfolios, including:
- RBI returns on asset classification, exposures, and credit data
- XBRL-based submissions and supervisory data requirements

- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of submissions to RBI.




- Coordinate submission of NIL returns, wherever applicable.
- Compliance Monitoring &
- Testing
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews and testing of areas approved by the Board
- Identify regulatory deviations and control gaps.
- Track and ensure timely closure of:

- Internal audit observations
- RBI inspection findings
- Compliance testing gaps

- Policy Review &
- Implementation
- Review and update internal credit and compliance policies in line with:

- RBI Master Directions / Circulars

- Support implementation of regulatory changes across credit and operations teams.
- Strengthen internal control frameworks over asset processes.
- Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with:

- Credit, business, operations, risk, and audit teams

- Support handling of:

- RBI inspection queries
- Supervisory discussions and audits

- Assist in preparing structured responses to regulatory observations.
- Issue Identification &
- Escalation
- Proactively identify compliance risks in asset portfolios.
- Escalate material deviations to senior management with actionable insights.
- Work with stakeholders for timely resolution of compliance gaps.
- Training &
- Awareness
- Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on:





- RBI regulations on lending and asset classification
- Compliance expectations in credit processes

- Promote a culture of strong regulatory adherence within asset business units.

- Minimal regulatory observations in RBI inspections related to asset portfolio
- Timely and accurate submission of regulatory returns
- Effective monitoring and reduction of compliance deviations
- Closure of audit and regulatory observations within defined timelines
- Strengthened compliance culture across asset businesses

Required Qualifications &

- Experience

- Qualification: CA / MBA (Finance) / LLB or equivalent
- Experience: 6–10 years in banking/NBFC compliance, with focus on:
- Asset-side compliance
- Credit monitoring / regulatory reporting

- Strong understanding of:

- RBI prudential norms
- Asset classification and provisioning
- Regulatory reporting framework

- Solid regulatory interpretation skills (RBI framework)
- Analytical ability with focus on asset-level compliance
- High attention to detail
- Effective communication (especially for regulatory/audit responses)
- Stakeholder coordination and problem-solving

Preferred Experience

- Experience in handling RBI inspections / supervisory audits
- Exposure to credit risk, loan operations, and asset lifecycle
- Experience with regulatory reporting systems and data validation
