Role Description The Assistant Professor of Production (JMC) at CTPL will be responsible for teaching production-related courses in Journalism and Mass Communication, developing curriculum content, and conducting classroom and lab-based sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering lectures, supervising practical projects, guiding learners in media production techniques, assessing performance through assignments and examinations, and providing academic mentoring. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues to integrate industry-relevant practices into course design, contributing to academic research or creative work,
and participating in departmental activities and institutional initiatives.
This is a full time, on-site role based in Jaipur, requiring regular presence on campus and active engagement with learners and faculty members.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in media production, including video, audio, and digital content creation, and familiarity with contemporary tools and workflows.
- Knowledge of Journalism and Mass Communication concepts, media ethics, storytelling techniques, and current trends in news and entertainment media.
- Experience in curriculum planning, lesson design, and learner assessment, with the ability to align academic content to industry standards.
- Proficiency in basic editing and post-production processes, and the ability to guide learners through practical production assignments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills, with an aptitude for mentoring and learner engagement.
- Master’s degree or higher in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- Prior teaching experience at the higher education level or substantial professional experience in media production is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, adapt to EdTech-driven environments, and contribute to institutional development initiatives.
