Job Summary

Highly experienced Injection Mold Design Engineer with 8–10 years of expertise in plastic injection mold design, mold debugging, tool trials, and Moldflow analysis. The candidate will be responsible for developing robust mold designs, driving tool validation activities, resolving molding issues, and optimizing tool performance through simulation and engineering analysis.

Main Responsibilities

- Design and develop plastic injection molds and Insert mold for automotive products.
- Prepare mold concepts, detailed 3D models, and manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
- Design complex tooling including hot runner molds, valve-gated molds, multi-cavity molds, lifters, sliders, and unscrewing mechanisms.
- Conduct DFM reviews and provide tooling recommendations to improve manufacturability and quality.
- Lead mold trials, tool prove-outs, and debugging activities to achieve customer requirements.




- Analyze and troubleshoot molding defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, weld lines, warpage, burns, and dimensional issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions related to tooling, processing, and product design.
- Conduct Moldflow simulations including filling, packing, cooling, warpage, gate location, and cycle time studies.
- Interpret Moldflow results and recommend design improvements to optimize mold performance and product quality.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, project management, and customer teams to ensure successful tool launch and validation.
- Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Expertise

- Strong hands-on experience in Injection Mold Design/Insert mold design and Tool Development.
- Proven expertise in Mold Debugging, Tool Trials, and Process Optimization.
- Extensive knowledge of hot runner systems, cooling optimization, gating systems, and mold mechanisms.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as NX, Creo, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
- Hands-on experience with Autodesk or MoldEx3D Moldflow Insight/Adviser.
- Good understanding of injection molding processes, tooling materials, GD&T;, and manufacturing methods.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, or related field.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in Injection Mold Design, Mold Debugging, and Moldflow Analysis.
- Experience in automotive tooling and global customer projects is preferred.
