- Serve as the supreme technical authority and ultimate escalation point for unprecedented, systemic, or high impact (Sev 0 / Sev 1) outages across global production environments.
- Lead deep tier internal forensics on catastrophic system crashes, complex Licensed Internal Code (LIC) bugs, machine checks, multi subsystem hangs, and silent data corruptions.
- Conduct advanced Main Storage Dump (MSD) decompilations, SLIC trace analysis, and system processor registers inspection using System Service Tools (SST), Dedicated Service Tools (DST), and native debugging tools.
- Direct direct engineering engagements with IBM Level 3 Lab Support, Rochester Development Teams, and vendor product architects to drive kernel level defect resolution and Authorized Program Analyses (APARs).
- Continuous Availability, Active Active Clustering &
- Georedundant DR
- Architect, test, and govern global High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) frameworks capable of delivering near zero Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
- Design hybrid and active active clustering models utilizing IBM PowerHA SystemMirror, Geographic Mirroring (GeoMirror), Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, and logical replication engines (Precisely MIMIX, Maxava).
- Architect end to end multi datacenter failover systems combining Independent Auxiliary Storage Pools (IASP), San Volume Controller (SVC), HyperSwap topologies,
and automated DNS/IP redirect automation.
- Govern and sign off on annual enterprise wide DR role swaps, failover simulations, and cyber resiliency disaster exercises without business disruption.

- Virtualization, PowerVM Topology &
- Workload Optimization
- Architect large scale enterprise PowerVM virtualization across high density Power10 enterprise servers (E1080 / E1050), establishing NPIV SAN multi pathing, Dual/Quad VIOS clustering, and Shared Ethernet Adapter (SEA) failover topologies.
- Engineer shared processor pool hierarchies, dynamic capping/uncapping formulas, Live Partition Mobility (LPM) automation, and enterprise workload balancing strategies.
- Implement IBM Power Enterprise Pools 2.0 (PEP 2.0), optimizing flexible compute capacity and multi system core/memory sharing to optimize IBM software licensing costs.
- Direct Hardware Management Console (HMC) infrastructure architectures, high availability HMC clustering, and REST API automation integrations.
- Modernization, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) &
- DevOps Automation
- Drive platform modernization by introducing contemporary Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation using Ansible for IBM i, Python, and open source tooling running in PASE.
- Architect and implement systemic operational health reporting using contemporary Db2 for i SQL Services (QSYS2) to replace legacy manual CL based commands.
- Integrate IBM i platform telemetry into enterprise observability platforms (Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus) using syslog forwarders and performance metric extractors.
