Position Summary

This is a high-performing team that works cohesively as we maintain, implement, and optimize the laboratory information system to support laboratories and patients served in hospital and freestanding ER facilities across our divisions, in alignment with the Laboratory Service Line’s goals and initiatives.

The position requires a robust work ethic, a desire to learn and grow, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities. Attention to detail and keen judgement are crucial to this role.

The LIS Senior Support Analyst will need to be able to trouble-shoot problems through investigation, collaboration, and creative problem solving and must be well-versed in CAP (College of American Pathologists) and other regulatory bodies’

requirements for LIS Systems and will serve as a resource to laboratories in maintaining compliance with these requirements.

The successful LIS Senior Support Analyst will be an effective communicator with great customer service skills in order to build strong working relationships with the teams we support. The LIS Senior Support Analyst will be a subject matter expert in various areas of the LIS and will collaborate as part of the development team to fulfill change requests and meet the needs for various projects as required.

Responsibilities

- Leadership or collaboration in the successful build, implementation, and support of small and large projects in the LIS space.
- Facilitation of change requests as part of the LIS Development Team.
- Facilitation of education regarding changes in the LIS system. May produce education materials, resources, and communications for end users.




- Support work towards implementation of Enterprise projects with deadlines that must be met.
- Provison of training and support to less experienced team members.
- Serves as a resource to others throughout the Enterprise as a SME in areas of advanced experience.
- Performance of dictionary maintenance, testing, and documentation according to team standards.
- Performance of daily and monthly system checks and reference lab maintenance.
- Performance of system validations, monthly and bi-annual system verifications required by CAP and other regulatory bodies to ensure the integrity of our systems.

Education &

- Experience

- Bachelor’s degree or a related discipline preferred; equivalent advanced technical experience may be considered.
- 3+ Years of Lab Information Systems Support

Must Have Skills

- Trouble-shooting and documentation of incidents and change requests, with appropriate escalation as required.
- Collaboration with other teams in the fulfillment of project requirements.
- Production system support including On Call responsibilities (rotated among LIS team) as required.
- Provision of support for all facilities across the division.
- May support other divisions as needed.
- Active participation in meetings of the division LIS Team, willing to ask questions and offer opinions.
- Promotion of system security and patient confidentiality and monitoring compliance.
- Building of strong relationships with core customer base (lab directors and med techs, etc.).

- Performance of other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency with Meditech 5.6 and Expanse Lab modules.

Nice To Have Skills

- Experience with laboratory workflows, reference laboratory integrations, instrument interfaces, and laboratory operations.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, HL7 messaging, and clinical system integrations.
- Experience supporting enterprise laboratory projects, system implementations, upgrades, testing, or conversion initiatives.
- Familiarity with CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, and other laboratory regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Experience creating training materials, conducting end-user education, and mentoring junior analysts or support team members.
