Sanmati Traders is a family-run business based in Imphal, Manipur. We are looking for an experienced and responsible Accountant who can independently manage our day-to-day accounts and keep our books accurate and up to date.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Imphal, Manipur. Candidates applying from outside Manipur must be willing to relocate to Imphal.

About the Role

We are looking for someone with strong practical accounting knowledge, preferably gained through CA articleship, who can independently handle the complete accounting cycle.

This is not just a bookkeeping or data-entry role. The accountant will be expected to identify and correct errors, reconcile accounts, manage statutory workings, review stock and settlements, close the books properly, and keep all accounts ready for audit and finalisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping in Tally Prime / ERP
- Record and verify sales, purchases, receipts, payments, expenses, journal entries, debit notes and credit notes
- Handle Bank Reconciliation (BRS) and regular ledger scrutiny
- Reconcile Credit Card, UPI, QR, EMI and finance settlements
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and monitor outstanding debtors and creditors
- Check purchase and sales invoices, GST, e-invoices and supporting documents
- Prepare workings for GST, TDS, Income Tax and other applicable compliances
- Handle payroll accounting and related statutory workings
- Identify and correct incorrect entries, ledger classifications and reconciliation differences
- Monitor cash flow, expenses and pending settlements
- Reconcile stock with purchases, sales, returns, transfers and physical inventory
- Assist with stock audits and identify shortages, excess stock and discrepancies
- Complete month-end and year-end closing, including provisions, accruals,



depreciation and reconciliations
- Prepare MIS, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, cash flow and other management reports
- Keep books, schedules, reconciliations and supporting documents ready for audit and finalisation
- Coordinate with the Chartered Accountant and provide complete and accurate accounts and supporting information for finalisation and statutory filings

Requirements

- Completed CA Articleship is the minimum requirement
- CA qualification is not required
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Solid practical knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping
- Good knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax and statutory compliance
- Strong working knowledge of Tally Prime / ERP
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Ability to independently manage the complete accounting cycle
- Strong understanding of Balance Sheet, P&L;, General Ledger and financial statements
- Ability to identify and correct accounting errors and discrepancies
- Honest, responsible, detail-oriented and willing to take ownership of the accounts
- Candidates applying from outside Manipur must be willing to relocate to Imphal, Manipur
