Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support enterprise GCP environments across organizations, folders, projects, and workloads.
- Implement and maintain GCP cloud governance standards, policies, guardrails, and operational controls.
- Manage project provisioning, lifecycle management, ownership, tagging/labeling, and resource organization.
- Manage GCP IAM, service accounts, roles, permissions, and least-privilege access.
- Implement and manage Organization Policies and other preventative governance controls.
- Architect and support GCP networking, including VPCs, Shared VPCs, subnets, firewall policies, Cloud NAT, Load Balancing, Private Service Connect, Cloud DNS, and private connectivity.
- Design, deploy, and support Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Compute Engine, Cloud Run, and other GCP infrastructure services.
- Support Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, persistent disks, and other core GCP services.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Automate cloud account/project provisioning, configuration, policy enforcement, and operational processes.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions, Cloud Build, and related tooling.
- Monitor cloud environments using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, alerting, and observability tools.
- Identify and remediate security, compliance, configuration, and governance issues.
- Support cloud cost management, resource optimization, and identification of unused or improperly provisioned resources.
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and operational support.
- Work with Security and Governance teams to ensure cloud resources comply with enterprise security requirements.
- Support onboarding of new workloads and teams into GCP while ensuring adherence to established cloud standards.
- Support Vertex AI and AI workloads from an infrastructure, governance, IAM, networking, and operational perspective.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement across Cloud Operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Fluent in English.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Required Google Cloud Certification: Candidates must hold at least one current, relevant Google Cloud certification, such as Associate Cloud Engineer, Qualified Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Dev Ops Engineer, Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or Professional Cloud Network Engineer.
- Strong understanding of GCP resource hierarchy, including Organizations, Folders, Projects, and IAM.
- Strong experience with GCP IAM, service accounts, roles, permissions, and least-privilege access.
- Experience implementing and managing GCP Organization Policies, governance standards, and cloud guardrails.
- Strong GCP networking experience, including VPCs, Shared VPCs, firewall policies, Cloud NAT, load balancing, DNS, and private connectivity.
- Experience with Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, and other core GCP infrastructure services.
- Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized workloads.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform.
- Experience with Git Hub, Git Hub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational troubleshooting.
- Understanding of cloud security, governance, compliance, and resource lifecycle management.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Experience supporting Linux-based infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work across Cloud Operations, Security, Dev Ops, and development teams.
Preferred Qualifications & Differentiators
The following qualifications are not required for the role but would be considered strong differentiators:
- AWS Certifications: Relevant AWS certifications, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer, AWS Certified Sys Ops Administrator, AWS Certified Security - Specialty, or other applicable AWS certifications.
- Microsoft Azure Certifications: Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications, including Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Dev Ops Engineer Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or other applicable Azure certifications.
- AWS Experience: Hands-on experience designing, operating, governing, or supporting AWS environments, particularly within large enterprise environments.
- Microsoft Azure Experience: Hands-on experience designing, operating, governing, or supporting Microsoft Azure environments, particularly within large enterprise environments.
- Multi-Cloud Experience: Experience working across GCP, AWS, and Azure and understanding how governance, IAM, networking, security, automation, and operational models differ across the three major cloud platforms.
- Experience working within a Cloud Operations, Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), or centralized Cloud Governance organization.
- Experience with Fin Ops, cloud cost optimization, budgets, quotas, chargeback, and showback models.
- Experience with Security Command Center, Cloud Asset Inventory, and enterprise cloud security tooling.
- Experience designing automated cloud project/account provisioning and onboarding processes.
- Experience building reusable Terraform modules and enterprise Infrastructure as Code frameworks.
- Experience with policy-as-code and automated compliance or governance enforcement.
- Experience with Vertex AI, Gemini, AI infrastructure, or governance of enterprise AI workloads.
- Experience with enterprise-scale Kubernetes platforms and multi-cluster GKE environments.
- Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity, VPNs, Interconnect, and complex enterprise networking.
