Job Description:
JOB TITLE: Store Manager – Production
JOB SUMMARY:
The Store Manager – Production is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials, components, semi-finished goods, and finished goods within the production department. The role ensures efficient inventory management, accurate record-keeping, and timely material availability to support smooth production operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT:
- Manage and maintain accurate records of raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished goods.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials to prevent damage and wastage.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
PROCUREMENT AND COORDINATION:
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely availability of required materials.
- Liaise with suppliers and procurement teams for material replenishment as per production schedules.
WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS:
- Oversee loading, unloading, and movement of materials within the store.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and implementation of safety standards.
- Monitor the proper use of material handling equipment.
DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING:
- Maintain material receipt, issue records, stock reports, and inventory ledgers.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management.
- Track material consumption and support optimization of inventory levels.
TEAM MANAGEMENT:
- Supervise and guide store staff, including storekeepers and helpers.
- Train staff on proper material handling and store procedures.
- Allocate work and monitor the performance of the store team.
COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable statutory requirements.
- Enforce safety protocols within the store and during material handling activities.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Robust knowledge of inventory and store management systems.
- Basic understanding of production processes and material requirements.
- Good organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to supervise and manage a team effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Candidates should have relevant experience in store and inventory management, preferably from a relevant industry.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3–7 years of experience in store management, preferably in production or manufacturing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Factory / Production Floor
- May require physical activity and shift-based work
