Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Techno-Commercial Head – Designer to lead textile design and product development while managing the technical and commercial aspects of fabric development.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in textile/fabric design, product development, costing, customer requirements and production coordination. The candidate will work closely with Design, Merchandising, Sales, Production, Sourcing and Quality teams to develop commercially viable textile products.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead textile design and product development from concept to bulk production.
- Develop new fabric designs, constructions, textures, patterns and finishes based on customer and market requirements.
- Understand yarn, fibre, blends, GSM, fabric construction and finishing requirements.
- Coordinate with weaving, processing, dyeing, printing and finishing teams.
- Develop samples, prototypes and product specifications and manage customer approvals.
- Prepare fabric costing, consumption calculations and product cost estimates.
- Evaluate technical and commercial feasibility of new products.
- Work with Sales and Merchandising teams on customer requirements, quotations and technical discussions.




- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, value engineering and improved product margins.
- Resolve technical issues during sampling and bulk production.
- Ensure products meet customer specifications, quality standards and cost targets.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify new product opportunities.

Required Skills & Experience

- 10–15+ years of experience in textile/fabric design and product development.
- Solid knowledge of fabrics, yarns, fibres, blends, weaving/knitting and finishing processes.
- Experience in textile costing and consumption calculations.
- Solid understanding of textile manufacturing and production processes.
- Exposure to customer handling, technical discussions and commercial negotiations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance design, quality, manufacturability and cost.
- Experience in leading a design/product development team.

Preferred Background

Candidates from textile manufacturing companies, home textiles, fabric mills, textile export houses or textile product development companies will be preferred.

Education

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, Textile Design or a relevant qualification.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
