As an Automotive Materials Specification Engineer at Celanese, you'll be at the heart of automotive innovation, managing specification requests from start to finish. You'll collaborate with product specialists, laboratories, and leading automotive OEMs and Tier customers, ensuring our advanced engineering thermoplastics meet the highest industry standards.
Responsibilities:
How You'll Make an Impact
- Manage the complete lifecycle of Automotive Specification Requests, from initiation through approval
- Interpret OEM and Tier specifications, conduct gap analyses, and coordinate testing with technical teams
- Perform statistical analysis of production data and assemble comprehensive customer approval packages
- Drive continuous improvement of ASR processes while maintaining documentation in Salesforce
Qualifications:
What You Bring
- Master's degree in Material Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering thermoplastics and automotive approval processes
- Experience with polymer testing methods and standards (ISO, ASTM, DIN, IEC)
- Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills with fluent English
- Service-oriented mindset with proven ability to drive results and facilitate complex issue resolution
