Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Railway Minerals Siding In-Charge to manage day-to-day operations of a mineral railway siding, including wagon placement, loading operations, rake coordination, manpower deployment, documentation, safety, and coordination with railway and company officials.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth, safe, and timely loading and dispatch of minerals through the railway siding.

Key Responsibilities

- Overall supervision and management of daily railway siding operations.
- Coordinate wagon placement, rake movement, loading and dispatch activities.
- Supervise mineral loading into railway wagons as per prescribed loading procedures and dispatch plans.
- Coordinate with Railway authorities, siding officials, mining companies, transporters, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Ensure proper deployment and utilization of manpower for siding operations.
- Monitor wagon availability, placement, loading progress and rake completion.
- Maintain proper coordination for timely placement and release of wagons/rakes.
- Ensure correct loading, levelling and distribution of minerals inside wagons.
- Monitor loading equipment, hopper/loading systems and other machinery used at the siding.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and operational discipline within the siding area.
- Maintain daily records of wagon loading, rake details, quantity loaded, dispatches and other operational activities.
- Prepare daily/shift-wise reports and submit them to the management.
- Verify and maintain necessary siding-related documents, registers and records.




- Coordinate with weighbridge and ensure proper reconciliation of loaded quantities.
- Monitor truck movement and material handling connected with railway loading operations.
- Ensure compliance with railway rules, company procedures, safety requirements and statutory guidelines.
- Identify operational issues and coordinate with the concerned departments for quick resolution.
- Handle emergency situations and operational disruptions effectively.
- Ensure proper communication between shift teams and management.
- Supervise and maintain discipline among workers and contractual manpower.
- Monitor productivity and minimize loading delays, detention and operational losses.

Safety Responsibilities

- Ensure strict compliance with railway and workplace safety procedures.
- Conduct regular safety briefings/toolbox talks for workers.
- Ensure workers use required PPE and follow safe working practices.
- Prevent unauthorized entry and unsafe movement within operational areas.
- Report accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure safe operation of loading equipment and machinery.

Documentation & Reporting

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining:

- Daily siding operation reports
- Wagon/rake loading records
- Quantity and dispatch records
- Wagon placement and release records




- Manpower attendance and deployment records
- Equipment utilization records
- Shift handover reports
- Safety and incident records
- Loading/reconciliation statements
- Other railway and company-related registers/documents

Candidate Requirements

- Graduate/Diploma preferred.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in railway siding, mineral loading, mining logistics, steel/mineral dispatch or similar operations.
- Experience in iron ore, manganese, coal or other bulk mineral railway siding operations will be preferred.
- Valuable knowledge of railway siding operations and wagon/rake loading procedures.
- Ability to manage manpower and coordinate multiple agencies.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word and email.
- Ability to work in shifts and manage operational pressure.
- Strong sense of responsibility, discipline and safety awareness.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
