About Us
FIFTY ONE CODE SOLUTIONS PVT LTD is an embedded systems company building firmware, IoT systems, and hardware-integrated products. We are based in Mangalore and work at the intersection of software, firmware, and manufactured hardware.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Developer with hands-on expertise in developing and deploying real-time embedded systems, not just project-based work. The role involves embedded software development, PCB design, prototyping new products and developing software for them, and developing and managing IoT systems.
The ideal candidate should have strong low-level programming skills and a solid understanding of real-time constraints, hardware-software integration, and embedded debugging. Practical experience working with live systems and production deployments is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize real-time embedded software for microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
- Prototype new products and develop the firmware, software, and supporting tools required for their operation and testing.
- Develop, manage, and maintain IoT systems, including connected devices, communication, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Implement, test, and troubleshoot low-level firmware, device drivers, and RTOS-based components.
- Design PCBs, including schematic development, component selection, PCB layout, and routing.
- Perform prototype bring-up, board testing,
and hardware–software integration.
- Integrate connected devices with backend services and cloud platforms.
- Debug and validate systems using JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other hardware tools.
- Ensure system performance, reliability, and real-time timing requirements are met.
- Develop robust, productive, scalable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Maintain and improve existing embedded and IoT systems.
- Contribute to product development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- Strong experience in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or ThreadX.
- Strong understanding of microcontrollers, embedded SoCs, and ARM Cortex or similar architectures.
- Knowledge of hardware interfaces and communication protocols, including UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN.
- Experience with low-level driver development.
- Strong understanding of real-time constraints, interrupt handling, and timing analysis.
- Proficiency with JTAG/SWD debugging, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- PCB design skills, including schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout, and routing using tools such as KiCad, Altium Designer, or equivalent.
- Ability to read schematics, understand component datasheets, and troubleshoot hardware–software integration issues.
- Experience prototyping new products and developing software for their operation and testing.
- Practical knowledge of developing and managing IoT systems, including device connectivity, data exchange, and remote monitoring.
- Familiarity with IoT communication protocols such as MQTT and HTTP/HTTPS.
- Professional experience working directly with live embedded systems or real-time environments, beyond academic or small project work.
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with AI agents or AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation, with the ability to review and validate their output.
- Experience with bare-metal programming.
- Knowledge of embedded Linux, kernel modules, and device drivers.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with cloud-connected IoT platforms, remote device management, and over-the-air firmware updates.
- Understanding of product lifecycle and deployment in production environments.
- Experience preparing PCB manufacturing files and applying design-for-manufacturability principles.
Who We Are Looking For
A highly skilled embedded developer who is:
- Practical, hands-on, and experienced in working with real-time systems.
- Capable of troubleshooting and handling challenges in live environments.
- Able to prototype new ideas and develop reliable software for new products.
- Confident in developing, managing, and maintaining IoT systems.
- Able to take ownership and collaborate effectively throughout product development.
- Passionate about embedded technology and real-world problem-solving.
What We Offer
- Hands-on involvement in real-time embedded systems, IoT solutions, and physical products.
- Opportunity to contribute across product prototyping, PCB design, firmware, software development, and deployment.
- Exposure to the complete product development lifecycle, from initial concept to real-world operation.
- Health insurance provided by the company.
- A practical engineering environment with opportunities to explore new technologies and development methods.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
