Working Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Head Accountant to manage the complete accounting and finance operations of an agriculture import-export company.

The ideal candidate should have solid practical knowledge of Tally/ERP, GST, TDS, taxation, import-export accounting, banking, reconciliation, MIS reporting and financial documentation. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

- Handle complete day-to-day accounting operations.

- Maintain sales, purchase, payment, receipt, journal and expense entries.

- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable.

- Manage debtor and creditor ledgers.

- Ensure accurate and timely accounting entries in Tally/ERP.

2. GST & Taxation

- Handle GST compliance, including GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.

- Perform GST and ITC reconciliation.

- Handle TDS calculations, payments and returns.

- Coordinate with CA/tax consultants for Income Tax and other statutory matters.

- Ensure timely compliance with applicable taxation requirements.

3. Import & Export Accounting

- Handle accounting related to import and export transactions.

- Maintain records of export invoices, purchase invoices, shipping documents and related financial documentation.

- Account for customs duty, freight, insurance, IGST and other import-related costs.





- Handle foreign currency transactions and export/import payment entries.

- Coordinate with banks, CHA, logistics teams and external consultants when required.

- Maintain proper records for export-related compliance and documentation.

4. Banking & Reconciliation

- Handle daily banking transactions and bank reconciliation.

- Monitor receipts, payments and outstanding balances.

- Coordinate with banks regarding payments, remittances and documentation.

- Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.

5. Financial Reporting & MIS

- Prepare monthly and periodic P&L;, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports.

- Prepare receivables and payables ageing reports.

- Prepare expense and financial MIS for management.

- Provide accurate financial information to management for decision-making.

6. Audit & Compliance

- Coordinate with CA, auditors, tax consultants and statutory authorities.

- Prepare necessary data and documents for audits.

- Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documents.

- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and statutory requirements.

7. Internal Controls

- Establish and maintain proper accounting procedures.

- Verify invoices, payments and financial documents.





- Identify accounting discrepancies and resolve them promptly.

- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Tally Prime / ERP

- Excellent knowledge of GST & TDS

- Import-Export accounting knowledge

- Knowledge of taxation and statutory compliance

- Bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation

- Strong MS Excel skills

- P&L;, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow preparation

- MIS reporting

- Accounts Payable & Receivable management

- Good understanding of banking transactions

- Robust analytical and numerical skills

- Good communication and coordination skills

Qualification & Experience

- B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance preferred.

- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.

- Candidates with experience in Import-Export, Agriculture, Trading, Manufacturing or Commodity businesses will be preferred.

- Experience independently handling accounts and statutory compliance will be an advantage.
