We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer/Designer with solid hands-on experience in Autodesk Inventor to develop 3D ducting models and detailed fabrication drawings for industrial projects.
The candidate will work closely with Mechanical and Structural Engineers and project teams to deliver accurate, high-quality designs that meet project specifications, engineering standards, and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify 3D mechanical and ducting models using Autodesk Inventor.
- Prepare detailed fabrication, general arrangement (GA), and assembly drawings.
- Create duct layouts, sections, supports, and related engineering drawings.
- Review project specifications, sketches, and engineering inputs.
- Coordinate with Mechanical and Structural Engineers for design integration.
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
- Incorporate design revisions based on review comments and project changes.
- Maintain drawing accuracy, quality, and proper document control.
- Support project teams in resolving design and drafting-related issues.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned design deliverables.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Autodesk Inventor for 3D modelling and detailing.
- Good understanding of industrial ducting systems, sheet metal design, and fabrication practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Knowledge of mechanical drafting standards and drawing practices.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering and project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design/drafting.
- Experience working on power, industrial, process plant, or similar engineering projects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Vault/PDM systems will be an added advantage.
