Senior/Lead Oracle Database Administrator :
REQUIREMENT SUMMARY
The Senior Oracle Database Administrator plays a critical role in managing and optimizing Oracle databases within a BFSI sector environment. This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of database architecture and performance tuning to ensure seamless operations and data integrity.
Description
- Minimum 8-12 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, with expertise in Oracle RAC, RMAN, and Data Guard.
- Proven capability in managing large-scale enterprise Oracle databases and providing 24/7 production support in the BFSI sector.
- Strong experience in performance tuning and optimization of Oracle databases, including use of OEM and other Oracle tools.
- Proficiency in database installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, and troubleshooting in both Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate for data replication and ensuring data consistency across distributed databases.
- Familiarity with cloud database solutions, including AWS RDS, EC2, and S3, and cloud migration strategies.
- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills, with experience in leading DBA teams and coordinating across technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Oracle databases across production, development, and test environments, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and troubleshoot Oracle databases to maintain optimal performance and security.
- Provide 24/7 production support, managing incidents, performing root-cause analysis,
and resolving critical database issues.
- Conduct performance tuning using AWR, ASH, SQL tuning, and execution-plan analysis to enhance database efficiency.
- Design and maintain Oracle RAC environments for high availability, ensuring seamless operations during failovers and switchover events.
- Configure and support Oracle Data Guard environments for disaster recovery, including regular DR drills and switchover tests.
- Perform database back-up and recovery operations using RMAN, ensuring data integrity and compliance with recovery objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide tailored database solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Work Model & Flexibility:
· Candidates must be open to working in shift schedules, including US hours.
- Experience: 8 to 12 years of relevant Oracle DBA experience
- Core Skills: Robust hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration
- Performance Tuning: Proven experience in database performance tuning, troubleshooting, SQL tuning, AWR/ASH analysis, wait-event analysis, and performance optimization
- Production Support: Experience supporting critical production database environments and handling performance-related incidents
- Location Flexibility: Candidates must be willing and flexible to work from the customer location as required
- Communication: Good customer-facing and stakeholder communication skills
