Job Summary
- We are looking for a System Engineer with experience in wafer handling systems and semiconductor manufacturing equipment .
- The role involves system-level design, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of wafer handling mechanisms used in semiconductor equipment.
- The engineer will work closely with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, process, and manufacturing teams to develop reliable and high-performance wafer handling solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and develop system-level requirements for wafer handling equipment.
- Design and integrate wafer handling systems including robotic arms, end effectors, aligners, load ports, wafer stages, elevators, and transfer mechanisms .
- Perform system architecture, functional analysis, and interface definition.
- Develop and validate wafer transfer sequences and motion profiles.
- Analyze system performance including accuracy, repeatability, throughput, vibration, settling time, and wafer safety .
- Troubleshoot wafer handling issues such as wafer slipping, misalignment, edge damage, particle generation, vibration, and transfer failures.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and process engineering teams for system integration.
- Develop system-level test plans, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct PAT, qualification, reliability, and performance testing .
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, debugging, and customer-site issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Drive design improvements for reliability, manufacturability, serviceability,
and cost reduction.
- Prepare technical documentation including system specifications, interface documents, test procedures, and engineering reports.
- Support recent product introduction (NPI) and engineering change activities.

Other Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, or a related field .
- Experience in semiconductor equipment, wafer handling, robotics, automation, or precision motion systems.
- Strong understanding of wafer handling and semiconductor manufacturing processes .
- Knowledge of precision motion mechanisms and robotic systems.
- Experience with sensors, actuators, motors, servo systems, and motion controllers.
- Ability to analyze mechanical/electrical system interactions and troubleshoot complex equipment problems.
- Familiarity with engineering tools such as CAD, PLM, PLC/robot programming, or other system-analysis tools is desirable.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, GD&T;, and system specifications.
