A Feed Mill Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of specialized machinery like pellet mills, grinders, and mixers to minimize production downtime.
Responsibilities
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Develop and execute maintenance plans, including regular inspections, lubrication, and parts replacement, to ensure 100% equipment efficiency.
- Breakdown Repairs: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix mechanical failures in equipment such as conveyors, elevators, and batching systems to restore operations quickly.
- Machinery Specifics: Maintain and adjust specialized feed mill components, including checking the gap between die and rolls and replacing cutting knives or deflectors.
- Spare Parts Management: Order specialist components and manage inventory levels to ensure critical spares are available for emergencies.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all activities follow including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and environmental regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance tasks, equipment malfunctions, and calibration records.
