Join us in developing PetRa, a smart pet safety collar. We’re looking for a hands-on Hardware Engineer who can help turn working prototypes into compact, reliable hardware ready for manufacturing.

Role & Responsibilities

- Design and review circuit schematics and PCB layouts for embedded and IoT devices.
- Select components based on performance, power consumption, size, cost, and availability.
- Develop battery charging, protection, power regulation, and battery monitoring circuits.
- Integrate microcontrollers, sensors, GPS/GNSS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and audio components.
- Assemble prototypes, bring up new PCBs, and troubleshoot hardware issues using appropriate test equipment.
- Work closely with the firmware and app development team on system integration and debugging.
- Improve battery life, signal quality, thermal performance, and overall hardware reliability.
- Prepare BOMs, Gerber files, assembly files, and hardware test documentation.
- Coordinate with PCB fabrication, assembly, and component suppliers.
- Support product testing and resolve issues identified during field trials.

Required Skills

- Practical knowledge of schematic design and PCB layout using Altium Designer, KiCad, EasyEDA, or similar tools.
- Understanding of analog and digital electronics, component datasheets, and circuit debugging.
- Knowledge of Li-ion/Li-Po batteries, Battery Management Systems (BMS), charging circuits, and power supplies.
- Familiarity with ESP32, STM32, or similar microcontrollers.
- Understanding of UART, I²C, SPI, and sensor interfacing.
- Experience using a multimeter, oscilloscope, and soldering/rework tools.
- Ability to document work, communicate clearly, and take ownership of assigned hardware tasks.

Good to Have





- Experience with compact, battery-powered wearable or IoT products.
- Knowledge of antenna placement, RF layout, EMI/EMC, and ESD protection.
- Familiarity with Embedded C/C++, board bring-up firmware, and hardware validation.
- Experience taking a PCB from schematic through fabrication and functional testing.

Qualifications

B.E., or B.Tech in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates with solid practical projects and demonstrable PCB design skills are encouraged to apply.

Additional Preference – Social Media & Marketing Skills

Candidates who also have experience managing social media accounts, creating content, and promoting products on platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram will receive additional preference.

These skills are optional; hardware engineering remains the primary responsibility. Candidates who can also take on agreed marketing responsibilities will be eligible for higher compensation, negotiable based on their skills, experience, and scope of work.
