Job Summary
The Hardware IT Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computer hardware, peripherals, and IT infrastructure. The role ensures that employees have reliable and efficient IT equipment and provides technical support for hardware-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware IT Engineer
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, workstations, printers, scanners, and other IT hardware.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware failures, performance issues, connectivity problems, and peripheral-related issues.
- Assemble, upgrade, and replace computer components such as RAM, hard drives/SSDs, power supplies, motherboards, and other hardware.
- Perform preventive maintenance and hardware health checks.
- Install and configure operating systems, drivers, BIOS/UEFI, and required software.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues involving LAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, and related equipment.
- Manage IT hardware inventory, asset tagging, warranty information, and equipment allocation.
- Coordinate with hardware vendors and service providers for repairs, replacements, and warranty claims.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to users.
- Maintain accurate records of hardware incidents, repairs, replacements, and maintenance activities.
- Assist with IT equipment installations, office moves,
upgrades, and new employee setups.
- Follow IT security, backup, data protection, and company policies when handling equipment and user devices.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers or specialized IT teams when required.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, drivers, BIOS/UEFI, and device configuration.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and Wi-Fi.
- Experience with desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
- Valuable diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of IT asset and inventory management.
- Ability to provide technical support to end users.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
Typical Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications, or equivalent experience are advantageous.
- 1–5 years of experience in hardware support, desktop support, IT support, or a similar role.
Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
