About the Role
An esteemed client of ours. is looking for an experienced Head of Finance / Financial Controller to lead the company's finance function during an exciting phase of business growth and expansion.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a finance professional who can go beyond accounting and take ownership of financial control, manufacturing costing, working capital, capex, banking, MIS, statutory compliance, ERP and fundraising readiness.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director and leadership team and will play a key role in preparing the organisation for future PE investment / SME IPO, while building robust finance systems and processes for scale.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & Reporting
- Lead the complete finance and accounting function.
- Own month-end and year-end closing and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure accurate and timely MIS and management reporting.
- Coordinate statutory audit, tax audit and internal audit.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, Companies Act and internal financial controls.
- Maintain fixed assets, capitalisation and CWIP records.
Manufacturing Finance & Costing
- Develop and maintain product-wise and BOM-level costing.
- Analyse material, labour, overhead, yield, scrap and production costs.
- Implement standard costing and monthly variance analysis.
- Monitor inventory valuation, ageing, obsolescence and physical verification.
- Track gross margins by product, customer and channel.
- Monitor the impact of input-cost and foreign-exchange movements on margins.
- Evaluate make-versus-buy decisions for backward integration.
Capex & Project Finance
- Evaluate and monitor major capex projects.
- Prepare project financial models including IRR, payback and sensitivity analysis.
- Track project budgets versus actual expenditure.
- Monitor vendor payments and project milestones.
- Ensure timely capitalisation of assets.
- Identify and utilise applicable government subsidies and incentives.
Fundraising & Investor Readiness
- Lead the finance workstream for potential PE fundraising / SME IPO.
- Prepare financial models, projections and valuation inputs.
- Coordinate financial due diligence and data-room preparation.
- Work with investment bankers, merchant bankers, auditors, valuers and legal advisors.
- Support investor presentations and management reporting.
- Build finance processes and governance standards required for institutional investment or listing.
Treasury, Banking & Working Capital
- Manage cash-flow forecasting, including a 13-week rolling cash-flow forecast.
- Drive improvement in working-capital efficiency.
- Manage receivables, inventory and payables.
- Manage banking relationships and working-capital facilities.
- Handle term loans, LC/BG facilities, CMA data and related banking requirements.
- Monitor debt covenants and funding costs.
- Manage foreign-exchange exposure relating to imports/exports.
Budgeting, MIS & FP&A;
- Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.
- Develop a 3–5 year financial plan.
- Establish a strong MIS and KPI reporting framework.
- Track revenue, margins, inventory days, DSO, DPO, cash conversion cycle and return on capital.
- Partner with Operations, Procurement, Sales, R&D; and the MD as a business finance partner.
Tax & Statutory Compliance
- Oversee GST, ITC reconciliation, Income Tax, TDS/TCS and advance-tax requirements.
- Monitor customs and import-duty requirements.
- Ensure timely PF, ESI, Professional Tax and other applicable statutory payments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant provisions of the Companies Act.
- Coordinate with the Company Secretary and external advisors on regulatory matters.
Internal Controls, ERP & Team Building
- Establish strong finance SOPs and internal controls.
- Strengthen Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and inventory-control processes.
- Implement appropriate approval, delegation and maker-checker mechanisms.
- Lead ERP implementation/upgradation covering finance, inventory, costing and manufacturing.
- Automate reporting and reconciliations.
- Build and mentor a robust finance team.

Qualification & ExperienceEssential
- MBA – Finance / ACMA / equivalent finance qualification
- Approximately 10 years of post-qualification experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing organisation
- Strong hands-on experience in finance control and manufacturing finance
- Experience in capex execution and/or bank/term-loan funding
- Strong knowledge of:
- Indian GAAP
- Companies Act
- GST
- Income Tax
- TDS
- Financial reporting
- Working knowledge of Ind AS
- Experience with ERP implementation, migration or process improvement
Preferred
Experience in one or more of the following will be an advantage:
- PE / VC fundraising
- SME IPO – NSE Emerge / BSE SME
- Investor due diligence
- Investment banking / transaction processes
- Imports and customs

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a hands-on finance leader with a strong manufacturing finance background who can combine accounting discipline with commercial thinking.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working directly with the MD and business leadership, challenging decisions with data, building systems from the ground up and taking ownership of multiple priorities including finance, costing, working capital, capex, banking, ERP and fundraising.

Compensation
Approximately ₹15 lakh per annum to max 17 Lakh per annum, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
