Qualification: MBBS + MD/MS/DNB in Ophthalmology

Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic examinations and OPD consultations.
- Diagnose and manage cataract, glaucoma, refractive errors, dry eye, infections, retinal and other common eye disorders.
- Perform slit-lamp examination, fundoscopy, tonometry and interpret OCT/visual field and other investigations.
- Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries according to individual competency, including cataract surgery/minor procedures where applicable.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
- Counsel patients and relatives regarding diagnosis, treatment options and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate patient records and comply with hospital/NABH protocols.
- Coordinate with optometrists, nurses, technicians and other ophthalmic specialists.
- Handle ophthalmic emergencies and refer complex cases appropriately.
- Participate in clinical audits, training and continuing medical education.
Candidate Requirements
- MD/MS/DNB Ophthalmology from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an eye hospital/ophthalmology department.
- Valid NMC/State Medical Council registration.
- Good clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Surgical experience, particularly cataract surgery, will be an advantage.
- Positive communication and patient-counselling skills.
- Patient-focused and ethical approach.
