He will ensure that assemblies are built and tested as per drawings and work instructions, that vehicle installations are carried out safely, neatly and as per the approved installation procedure, and that assembly, installation and trial observations are recorded and fed back to the Production, Design and Quality teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out mechanical assembly of products and sub-assemblies (enclosures, brackets, mounts, fasteners, harnesses, connectors, cable glands and labels) as per drawings, BOMs and work instructions.
- Apply correct torque values, thread-locking, sealing / gasketing and cable-routing practices during assembly to ensure product reliability in the vehicle setting.
- Perform in-process and final testing (mechanical, functional and power-on checks) of assembled units and record results in test reports and traceability records.
- Install existing and new products in company-provided vehicles for in-house testing and validation, following the approved installation procedure and the vehicle manufacturer's guidelines.
- Carry out vehicle electrical connections (battery / ignition supply, ground, signal and CAN / OBD interfaces) using correct wire gauge, fusing, crimping and insulation methods, without damaging the vehicle's original wiring.
- Route, secure and protect wiring and mounted units against vibration, heat, water ingress and abrasion.

- Ability to read mechanical / assembly drawings, BOMs and wiring diagrams.
- Working knowledge of automobile electrical systems (12 V / 24 V), including battery, ignition, lighting, fuses, relays and instrument cluster.
- Use of multimeter, test lamp and basic diagnostic tools; familiarity with OBD scan tools is a plus.
