Role and Responsibilities of Unit Head

Strategic Planning

- Formulating long / short term strategic plans and standard operating procedures to enhance operations
- Work with hr team for recruitment of staffs for any critical roles
- Conceptualizing & implementing measures in operating procedures to optimize resource/ capacity utilization company wide
- Budgeting of Capex and opex requirements & R&M; and optimization of the same for better utilization
- Own and contribute to the development of and the accomplishment of the organization-wide business plan and objectives. Ensure that business objectives are established to support the attainment of the overall strategic business plan and objectives

Daily Operations:

- Making sure all departments follow the process and protocols laid down
- Guides team through a review mechanism.
- Auditing, Identifying and rectifying shortcomings including operations & facility management. Manage patient client requests and making sure of timely delivery of services
- Ensures relevant issues / requirements are escalated for timely intervention by the senior management.
- Focus of cost optimization across departments.
- Assure cost effectiveness and financial integrity, with emphasis on revenue enhancement, productivity, utilization management and overall profitability.
- Work on ARPOB fluctuations.
- Making sure operational efficiency is improved by setting the right process.
- Escalation management.
- Coordinate with the sales team and provide support to the centre to facilitate the closure and conversion of the lead.
- Ensure that the billing is updated and there are no outstanding on any of the patients.
- Ensuring interdisciplinary coordination to improve quality of patient services.




- Review of all patient feedback and process improvement mechanisms for improvement in NPS.
- Ensure the efficient, effective utilization of human and infrastructure resources including supervision and quality of the food & beverages department. For F&B; the expectation is to work with the medical doctor, F&B; supervisor and dieticians.
- Ensure statutory compliance (Biomedical Waste, Fire Safety, Labour Laws, AERB, Pollution Control Board, etc.).
- Ensure effective vendor management, procurement, and inventory control.

Training and competency:

- Participate in orientation, competency evaluation, and education/training activities that are appropriate to identified learning needs of all staff. Needs to be done along with medical director and nursing skill development leader
- Maintains required dashboards / metrics / MIS so as to ensure prompt and accurate reporting to the management.

Biomedical, Pharmacy:

- Work with biomedical team and make sure the bio medical equipments are utlized properily and billed to the patients.
- Bring more control measures in procuring and utilization of biomedical equipment’s
- Making sure that all patient medicine needs are met by our inhouse pharmacy.
- Work in tandem with pharmacy head and make sure the revenue targets set by the management for pharmacy department is acheived.
- New Initiatives
- Identify and bring in current initiatives for improve existing processes.
- Identify new business ideas for revenue generation. Work in tandem with management on this.
- Revenue responsibility of new initiatives
- Put in control measures on revenue leakage.
- Implement hospital policies, SOPs, and quality standards (NABH/JCI/ISO).
