Our services include rooftop solar solutions, solar project execution, installation support, net-metering coordination, subsidy assistance, solar pumps, inverters, and associated renewable-energy solutions.
As we expand our presence in West Bengal, we are looking for a highly motivated Product Manager – Solar who can develop our distribution network while taking ownership of solar projects within the assigned territory.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Product Manager – Solar will be responsible for developing and managing Rivon Solar's business across the assigned territory in West Bengal.
The role has two major areas of responsibility:
1. Channel & Distributor Development
Build and manage a strong network of Distributors and Channel Partners who can generate solar business for Rivon Solar.
2. Solar Project Coordination & Execution
Oversee solar projects generated within the assigned territory from lead/site survey stage through quotation, customer confirmation, installation, documentation, and project completion.
This is a field-oriented, full-time and target-based position requiring regular travel within the assigned territory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Distributor & Channel Network Development
The Product Manager – Solar will be responsible for expanding Rivon Solar's channel presence across West Bengal.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify potential Distributors and Channel Partners in assigned districts and territories.
- Approach, present, negotiate with, and onboard suitable Distributor partners.
- Develop a strong district-wise solar distribution network.
- Identify businesses, electrical dealers, solar dealers, contractors, entrepreneurs, and other potential channel partners.
- Explain Rivon Solar's business model, products, pricing, project process, and partner opportunities.
- Conduct meetings and presentations with prospective partners.
- Ensure timely onboarding and activation of new Distributors.
- Support newly appointed Distributors in developing their local solar business.
- Maintain regular communication with active Distributors.
- Monitor Distributor performance and business generation.
- Reactivate low-performing or inactive partners.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective Distributors.
- Achieve monthly Distributor acquisition and activation targets.
2. Solar Sales & Business Development
The employee will be responsible for generating and supporting solar business within the assigned territory.
Key responsibilities include:
- Generate solar business through Distributor and partner networks.
- Identify residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural solar opportunities.
- Support partners in converting enquiries into confirmed projects.
- Understand customer electricity consumption and basic solar requirements.
- Coordinate preliminary system-sizing requirements with the technical team.
- Assist in preparation and presentation of quotations and commercial proposals.
- Follow up with prospective customers and partners until closure.
- Support commercial negotiations within Company-approved pricing.
- Ensure timely collection of required customer information and documents.
- Work towards monthly solar sales, project and revenue targets.
3. Solar Project Oversight
The Product Manager – Solar will act as the key coordination point for projects generated within the assigned area.
Responsibilities include:
- Track every assigned solar project from initial enquiry to completion.
- Coordinate customer site surveys.
- Ensure required site information, photographs, electricity bills, measurements, and customer documents are collected.
- Coordinate with the technical team for system design and feasibility.
- Coordinate preparation and approval of quotations.
- Follow up on customer confirmation and payments.
- Coordinate material requirements and dispatch with the internal team.
- Coordinate with installation teams and customers for installation schedules.
- Monitor installation progress.
- Visit project sites whenever required.
- Ensure installation work is completed according to approved project requirements.
- Escalate project delays or site-related issues to Management.
- Coordinate project completion documentation.
- Ensure proper project handover and customer communication.
The Product Manager is expected to maintain clear visibility of the status of every project under the assigned territory.
4. Site Survey Coordination
The employee shall coordinate and, where required, participate in preliminary site surveys.
This may include:
- Customer and site verification
- Roof availability and basic measurements
- Roof type and condition
- Shadow assessment
- Proposed solar panel placement
- Electricity connection details
- Sanctioned load information
- Electricity bill collection
- Meter information
- Customer contact and KYC information
- Basic installation feasibility
- Photographs and videos of the proposed installation area
Technical design and final engineering decisions shall remain subject to approval by the Company's authorised technical team.
5. Installation Coordination
The Product Manager shall coordinate between the customer, Distributor, installation team, vendors and Rivon Solar's internal team.
Responsibilities include:
- Confirming installation schedules.
- Ensuring customer availability.
- Coordinating material delivery.
- Tracking installation team deployment.
- Monitoring project progress.
- Reporting shortages or installation issues.
- Ensuring pending work is completed.
- Coordinating final inspection and project closure.
- Obtaining required completion information from the installation team.
6. Subsidy & Net-Metering Coordination
For eligible projects, the employee shall support coordination of applicable rooftop-solar processes.
Responsibilities may include:
- Collecting required customer documents.
- Ensuring customer information is correctly submitted to the relevant internal team.
- Coordinating documentation required for applicable subsidy processes.
- Supporting net-metering documentation and follow-up.
- Coordinating with authorised personnel, vendors, DISCOM-related processes, or other stakeholders where required.
- Keeping customers and partners informed about project documentation status.
The employee must not make unauthorised commitments regarding subsidy approval, subsidy amount, government approval timelines, or net-metering approval.
All such matters shall remain subject to applicable government schemes, DISCOM procedures, eligibility conditions, and regulations.
7. Distributor Relationship Management
The role requires continuous engagement with Rivon Solar's channel network.
The employee will:
- Act as the primary business contact for assigned Distributors.
- Provide product and process information.
- Support Distributors in generating and converting leads.
- Conduct regular follow-ups and business reviews.
- Share approved marketing and sales materials.
- Coordinate training where required.
- Resolve or escalate Distributor concerns.
- Encourage partners to maintain an active project pipeline.
- Track partner-wise sales and project performance.
8. Territory Development – West Bengal
This position is specifically responsible for West Bengal.
The employee will be expected to:
- Develop a district-wise expansion strategy.
- Identify high-potential solar markets.
- Develop Distributor coverage across assigned districts.
- Build relationships with local solar ecosystem participants.
- Understand local market pricing and competition.
- Identify residential and commercial opportunities.
- Regularly travel within assigned areas.
- Submit market intelligence and competitor information to Management.
- Recommend potential new territories for expansion.
Territory allocation may be modified by Management depending on business requirements.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
A typical working day may include Distributor meetings, partner acquisition calls, customer meetings, project follow-ups, site visits, coordination with installation teams, documentation follow-ups, sales closures, payment follow-ups, and reporting.
The employee is expected to independently plan field activities and ensure that sales opportunities and ongoing projects receive timely attention.
REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
The Product Manager – Solar will be expected to maintain accurate records of:
- Distributor pipeline
- Distributor onboarding
- Distributor-wise leads
- Customer leads
- Site surveys
- Quotations
- Confirmed projects
- Project capacity in kW
- Payment/collection status
- Installation status
- Project completion status
- Monthly sales and revenue
- Pending operational issues
Daily activity reports and weekly/monthly performance reviews may be required by Management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
Minimum Qualification: Graduation from a recognised university/institution.
Candidates from Business, Sales, Marketing, Electrical, Renewable Energy, Engineering, Commerce, or related backgrounds may be preferred; however, relevant experience and ability to perform the role will be given significant consideration.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
This is a field-intensive position.
The employee must be willing to travel extensively within the assigned territory in West Bengal for:
- Distributor meetings
- Customer meetings
- Site surveys
- Project visits
- Installation coordination
- Market development
- Business development activities
The candidate should preferably have a two-wheeler and valid driving licence for local field movement.
Performance incentives, where applicable, shall be linked to achievement of defined sales, Distributor acquisition, project and revenue targets.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
The Product Manager – Solar is expected to take end-to-end ownership of business development within the assigned territory.
Success in this role will not be measured only by the number of partners onboarded. Particular importance will be given to:
Active Distributors → Qualified Leads → Site Surveys → Confirmed Projects → Installed Solar Capacity → Revenue → Successful Project Completion
The employee should therefore focus on developing a productive and sustainable solar distribution network, rather than merely increasing the number of registrations.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
We are looking for a graduate candidate based in or willing to work extensively across West Bengal who is comfortable with field sales, travel, Distributor development, customer interaction, and solar project coordination.
The candidate should be target-oriented, disciplined, proactive, and capable of independently managing an assigned territory.
