Engineering Lead / Head of Engineering – Fintech

Location: Mumbai — Onsite, all working days
Compensation: Up to ₹1 Cr
Experience: 7+ years

We have been mandated to identify a hands-on Engineering Lead / Head of Engineering for a high-growth fintech company in Mumbai.

This is a senior, hands-on engineering role for someone who has spent years building products, solving complex engineering problems, designing scalable systems, and taking end-to-end technical ownership.

We are looking for an engineering leader who can remain close to the technology while leading and developing a strong engineering team.

What we're looking for

- 7+ years of strong software engineering experience
- Prior experience in the lending domain is mandatory
- Strong understanding of lending technology and workflows, with exposure to Loan Management Systems (LMS), Loan Origination Systems (LOS), and related lending platforms
- Experience leading and mentoring a team of at least 4 engineers
- Strong system design, architecture, and problem-solving capabilities
- Proven experience building and scaling production-grade products




- Ability to take ownership from technical design through production delivery
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-ownership setting
- Willingness to work onsite in Mumbai on all working days

Who could be a good fit

We are particularly interested in candidates currently working as Tech Leads, Engineering Leads, Staff Engineers, Principal Engineers, Founding Engineers, or other senior hands-on engineering leaders.

Former technology founders who have personally built and scaled products are also highly relevant.

This is not a pure people-management role. We are looking for someone with strong engineering depth who can make architecture and technical decisions, guide engineers, and take ownership of critical systems.
