Summary:

UST is looking for a hands-on Lead Software Engineer who combines strong software development expertise with effective use of AI-powered development tools, Python automation, and technical leadership to deliver high-quality solutions faster, mentor engineering teams, and drive successful project outcomes.

The Opportunity:

- Role: Lead AI-Assisted Software Engineer (Offshore)

- Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer with strong hands-on development expertise and a passion for leveraging AI tools to improve engineering productivity and delivery outcomes. This is not an AI/ML model development role. The focus is on building applications, automation, and solutions using existing AI platforms, APIs, and coding assistants while providing technical leadership to the team.

- Key Roles & Responsibilities:

- Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable enterprise applications.

- Remain hands-on with coding and contribute to critical development activities, code reviews, troubleshooting, and solution implementation.

- Leverage AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.) to accelerate development, improve quality, and reduce delivery timelines.

- Develop automation solutions, utilities, and integrations using Python.

- Integrate existing AI/LLM APIs and services into business applications and workflows.





- Provide technical leadership to development teams, ensuring adherence to architecture, coding standards, security, and best practices.

- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers on modern development practices and effective use of AI tools.

- Drive solution design discussions and collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and QA teams.

- Lead estimation, technical planning, risk identification, and mitigation for assigned workstreams.

- Ensure delivery quality through code reviews, automated testing practices, and CI/CD adoption.

- Evaluate and recommend opportunities to improve engineering efficiency through AI-assisted software development.

What you need:

- 8+ years of software development experience with strong hands-on coding capability.

- Proficiency in Python and modern application development technologies.

- Proven experience building and integrating REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.

- Ability to utilize AI-powered tools as a productivity accelerator and coach teams on AI-enabled development practices.

Required Skills:

- 8+ years of software development experience with solid hands-on coding capability.

- Proficiency in Python and modern application development technologies.

- Experience building and integrating REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.





- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, design patterns, DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.

- Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity and code quality.

- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide hands-on leadership during critical deliveries.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desired Skills:

- A technical lead who continues to code and lead by example.

- Uses AI as a productivity accelerator and can coach teams on AI-enabled development practices.

- Strong problem solver capable of independently driving complex technical initiatives.

- Focused on application development, automation, and delivery excellence rather than building or training AI/ML models.

- Passionate about modern engineering practices and continuous improvement.

Qualification:

- 8+ years of relevant software development experience.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
