Sri Krishna Education Trust (Shishya Schools & Minerva Colleges) runs CBSE and Cambridge schools alongside B.Ed, Pharmacy, BCA, MCA and Nursing colleges across multiple campuses. The Trust is looking for a senior, hands-on HR Lead to build and run its central HR function — recruitment, training, HR compliance and HR processes — for teaching and non-teaching staff. The HR Lead will be the Trust's key partner to Principals, college heads and the Chief of Staff in attracting and retaining quality educators, building a strong culture of ownership and professionalism, and ensuring that every campus follows consistent, compliant and well-documented people practices, in line with the Trustees' guidance.
HR Lead — (Head – Human Resources)
Location: Bangalore
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute the Trust-wide HR strategy and annual plan in alignment with the Trustees' guidance; act as the central HR SPOC for all schools and colleges and advise leadership on manpower, organisation structure and people decisions.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Own end-to-end hiring for teaching and non-teaching roles — manpower planning, job descriptions, sourcing (job portals, consultants, campus and referral channels), screening, demo classes/interviews, offers and onboarding — with defined turnaround times, including senior hires such as Principals, HoDs and coordinators.
Training & Development: Design and run the annual training calendar — induction, pedagogy and CBSE/Cambridge capability building, soft skills, leadership development for coordinators and Principals, safeguarding and POSH awareness — and measure training effectiveness.
HR Compliance: Ensure full compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements (PF, ESI, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments, POSH, minimum wages, professional tax, contract labour, etc.), board and affiliation norms for staff qualifications and records, and regulatory requirements of colleges (UGC / AICTE / PCI / INC / NCTE as applicable); manage audits and inspections.
HR Processes & Policies:
Build, document and roll out standard HR policies, SOPs and a staff handbook across campuses — attendance and leave, code of conduct, disciplinary process, transfers, separation and full-and-final settlement — and keep personnel files and records audit-ready.
Performance Management: Own the performance appraisal cycle for teaching and non-teaching staff — goal setting, classroom/role-based KPIs, reviews, calibration, and linking outcomes to increments, promotions and development plans.
Compensation, Payroll & Benefits: Design and maintain pay structures and grading; oversee monthly payroll, in coordination with the Finance Head at Bangalore, and manage advantages and statutory deductions accurately and on time; manage the annual manpower and HR budget.
Employee Engagement & Retention: Drive staff engagement, communication and recognition programmes; track attrition, run exit interviews, and implement retention actions, particularly for high-performing teachers.
Employee Relations & Grievance Handling: Handle grievances, disciplinary matters and sensitive cases fairly and confidentially, working closely with Principals; run the Internal Committee process under POSH and support child-safeguarding and conduct standards.
HR Systems & MIS: Implement and manage HRMS/payroll tools; report key metrics — headcount, vacancies and time-to-hire, attrition, training hours, compliance status and cost per employee — to Trust leadership on a regular basis.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the HR team and campus HR coordinators; build a culture of ownership, discipline and professionalism.

Ability to design training programmes, policies, SOPs and appraisal frameworks and to implement them consistently across multiple campuses.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — trusted by Trustees, Principals, teachers and non-teaching staff alike.
