About the Role

Free Ink Post is looking for a Freelance Social Media Handler to manage and grow our presence across social media platforms.

The role is suitable for someone who understands digital news, social media trends and content publishing and can independently manage day-to-day social media activities for a growing digital news platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage Free Ink Post's social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X.
- Publish news stories, breaking news, graphics, reels and videos.
- Write engaging captions, headlines and social media copy.
- Convert website news stories into social-media-friendly content.
- Coordinate with journalists, anchors and video editors.
- Identify trending and newsworthy topics suitable for social media.
- Maintain a regular posting schedule.
- Monitor comments, messages and audience engagement.
- Track basic social media performance and insights.
- Help increase reach, engagement and followers.
- Support social media coverage during breaking-news situations.
- Maintain Free Ink Post's branding and editorial standards across platforms.

Requirements

- Good knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X.




- Strong Hindi and English communication skills.
- Good understanding of current affairs and digital news.
- Solid caption and headline-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of Canva or similar design tools.
- Basic knowledge of creating/editing reels is preferred.
- Understanding of social media analytics and audience engagement.
- Previous experience handling social media for a news/media organisation is an advantage.

Ideal Candidate

News → Caption → Graphic/Reel → Publishing → Engagement → Performance Tracking

The candidate should be proactive, responsive and comfortable working in a fast-paced digital-news environment.
