Job Summary

We are looking for an Accountant – Tax & Compliance with 2–5 years of experience in accounting, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.

The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, GST and TDS filings, reconciliations, compliance tracking, documentation, and coordination with Chartered Accountants, auditors, and tax consultants.

This is an accounting and compliance role and does not require a legal background.

Key Responsibilities

GST & Tax Compliance

- Prepare and file GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and other applicable returns.
- Ensure timely completion of GST filings and payments.
- Perform GST reconciliation between books, purchase/sales records, and GST portal data.
- Review Input Tax Credit (ITC) and identify discrepancies.
- Monitor and resolve GST mismatches and compliance issues.
- Assist with GST registration, amendments, and other GST-related activities.
- Coordinate with CAs and tax consultants on GST and tax matters.

TDS & Statutory Compliance

- Calculate, prepare, and file TDS returns.
- Ensure timely payment of TDS and maintain supporting documentation.
- Assist with income tax-related compliance and documentation.
- Track statutory compliance deadlines and ensure timely filings and payments.
- Maintain records of returns, challans, certificates, notices, and other compliance documents.
- Knowledge of Professional Tax, PF, ESI, and other applicable statutory compliances will be an advantage.

Accounting

- Maintain accurate books of accounts and accounting records.
- Record and verify sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments.
- Perform bank, ledger, GST, and other reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain proper supporting documentation for accounting transactions.




- Prepare reports and financial information required by management and auditors.

Audit & Compliance Support

- Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, auditors, and tax consultants.
- Provide ledgers, invoices, schedules, reports, and supporting documents for audits.
- Assist with statutory, tax, and internal audits.
- Support the resolution of audit and compliance observations.
- Maintain organized records of all statutory filings and compliance activities.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in accounting and statutory compliance.
- Practical experience in GST and TDS compliance.
- Hands-on experience with GST return preparation and filing.
- Valuable understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Experience with Tally / Tally Prime or other accounting software.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Strong reconciliation and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple compliance deadlines.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Experience

- Ability to independently handle routine GST compliance.
- Experience in GST and ITC reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience with the GST portal.
- Experience coordinating with CAs, auditors, and tax consultants.
- Experience handling GST notices and providing supporting documentation.
- Knowledge of TDS, Professional Tax, PF/ESI, and other statutory compliances.
