We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Safety Compliance & EHS Coordinator to support our UPS and battery service operations at Tata Steel.

The person will be responsible for maintaining safety compliance and documentation, coordinating with Tata Steel’s Safety/EHS Department, ensuring technicians follow required safety procedures, and conducting/organising safety training and toolbox talks.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate with Tata Steel Safety/EHS Department regarding safety requirements, permits, compliance and documentation.
- Maintain all safety-related records and documents required for our service personnel working at Tata Steel.
- Ensure compliance with Tata Steel’s contractor safety requirements and site safety procedures.
- Maintain records of:

- Safety induction and training
- Toolbox talks
- PPE compliance
- Medical/fitness certificates
- Work permits and related documentation
- Incident/near-miss reports
- Safety inspections and observations
- Employee/site safety records
- Coordinate safety induction and periodic safety training for technicians and service personnel.
- Conduct or coordinate Toolbox Talks / Daily Safety Briefings.
- Ensure technicians use appropriate PPE and follow protected working practices while handling UPS systems, batteries and electrical equipment.
- Assist in preparation and submission of safety documents, reports and compliance records to Tata Steel.
- Monitor expiry/renewal of safety-related documents and ensure timely compliance.
- Coordinate with the service team and site supervisors to close safety observations and corrective actions.
- Assist during Tata Steel safety audits, inspections and contractor compliance reviews.
- Maintain proper digital and physical filing of all safety documentation.
- Communicate safety instructions effectively to technicians and service personnel.
- Promote a strong Safety First culture within the service team.

Preferred Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in industrial safety, EHS coordination, contractor safety or safety compliance.
- Experience working at Tata Steel / steel plants / heavy industry / manufacturing sites will be preferred.
- Candidates familiar with contractor safety documentation and Tata Steel safety systems/procedures will have an advantage.
- Experience with electrical/UPS/battery service environments will be an added advantage.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma/Degree in Safety / Industrial Safety / EHS preferred.




- Candidates with relevant industrial safety experience and suitable safety certifications may also be considered.

Skills Required

- Good knowledge of industrial safety practices.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to communicate with technicians as well as senior safety personnel.
- Valuable knowledge of MS Office / Excel / Word / email.
- Ability to prepare safety reports, checklists and compliance documents.
- Good command of Hindi and English; knowledge of the local language will be an advantage.
- Should be disciplined, proactive and comfortable working in an industrial plant environment.

The candidate should be capable of independently managing the day-to-day safety compliance and documentation requirements of our Tata Steel service operations, while coordinating effectively between our service team and Tata Steel’s Safety/EHS Department.
