Security Engineer – L1
Role:- Security Engineer – L1 – Insurance Sector (24x7 On-site Position)
Location : Mumbai
Below are the requirements for Security L1 :-

- Endpoint Detection & Response (CrowdStrike / SentinelOne)
- Vulnerability Management
- Security Incident Monitoring (SOC)
- Web Application Firewall (WAF)
- Basic Network Understanding
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Phishing mail analysing

Role Overview
The L1 Security Engineer is responsible for monitoring security events, performing initial incident analysis, validating alerts, troubleshooting basic security issues, and escalating complex incidents to the L2/L3 teams. The role supports enterprise security technologies while ensuring compliance with organizational security policies.

Primary Responsibilities

- Monitor and support Web Application Firewall (WAF) like Akamai, Indusface, and F5.
- Validate blocked and allowed requests and perform the basic troubleshooting.
- Monitor and Investigate malware EDR detections.
- Escalate advanced investigations to L2 and L3 with detail information.
- Investigate phishing emails and validate suspicious attachments.
- Knowledge of DMARC, DKIM and SPF authentication records.
- Review vulnerability scan reports and coordination with stakeholder for mitigation.
- Monitor firewall alerts, validate security policies and verify blocked connections.

Secondary Responsibilities
Support Firewall Alert and Security Policy Validation: Monitor firewall alerts, validate security policies, and escalate suspicious activity.
Assist with Proxy Security (Fortinet/Forcepoint): Monitor web traffic,



review proxy logs, and enforce internet access policies.
Assist in Data Loss Prevention (DLP): Monitor DLP alerts and help prevent unauthorized data leakage.
Support Secure Access Service Edge (SASE): Monitor cloud-based secure access and investigate user access issues.
Collaborate with the SOC: Perform initial incident triage and coordinate with SOC teams during security investigations.
Support Security Audits and Compliance: Provide security logs, reports, and evidence for audit and compliance activities.
Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Update documentation, suggest process improvements, and help enhance security operations.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

- Security Technologies: Knowledge in WAF management, firewall management, EDR solutions, proxies, SASE, and VPNs.
- Security Certifications (preferred): Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or technology
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address complex security incidents.
- Communication: Effective communication skills, with the ability to document and relay technical information
- clearly.
- Availability: Willingness to work in a 24x7 environment, with flexible availability for shift rotations.
