Job Purpose

To ensure the protected, reliable and efficient operation of the hospital’s electrical, plumbing, water supply and general maintenance systems, while promptly attending to maintenance requirements across the hospital premises.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Maintenance

- Inspect, maintain and repair electrical wiring, switches, sockets, lights, fans and other electrical equipment.
- Attend to electrical breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain and monitor electrical distribution boards, MCBs, ELCBs and related systems.
- Replace damaged bulbs, switches, sockets, cables and other electrical components.
- Carry out preventive electrical maintenance as per the hospital schedule.
- Ensure electrical installations are safe and properly maintained.
- Coordinate with external electricians or service providers when specialized work is required.

2. Plumbing & Water System Maintenance

- Inspect, repair and maintain water supply and drainage systems.
- Attend to leaking taps, pipes, toilets, washbasins, showers and other plumbing fixtures.
- Maintain water tanks, pumps, pipelines and related equipment.
- Respond promptly to water leakage, blockage and drainage complaints.
- Ensure continuous availability of water in patient rooms, treatment areas, kitchen and other hospital facilities.

3. General Maintenance

- Attend to routine maintenance issues in patient rooms, treatment rooms, staff areas, kitchen and other hospital premises.
- Carry out minor repairs involving doors, locks, fittings, furniture and other fixtures where required.
- Identify maintenance problems and report major issues to the concerned supervisor.
- Assist external technicians during servicing and repair of hospital equipment and infrastructure.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area after completing maintenance work.

4. Preventive Maintenance

- Follow the hospital's preventive maintenance schedule.
- Regularly inspect electrical, plumbing,



water supply and other facility systems.
- Maintain records of maintenance work, repairs and replacement of materials.
- Identify potential problems before they result in breakdowns or service interruptions.

5. Safety & Compliance

- Follow all hospital safety procedures and electrical safety standards.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while carrying out maintenance work.
- Immediately report electrical hazards, water leakage, fire hazards or other safety concerns.
- Ensure maintenance activities do not disturb patient care and hospital operations.
- Handle tools, equipment and electrical materials safely and responsibly.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- ITI / Diploma in Electrical or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
- Practical experience in electrical and plumbing maintenance.
- Good knowledge of electrical wiring, plumbing systems and basic mechanical maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and plumbing problems independently.
- Knowledge of basic safety procedures and use of maintenance tools.
- Ability to work during emergencies and attend urgent breakdowns.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience in a hospital, hotel, healthcare facility or similar institution will be an advantage.

- Prompt response to maintenance complaints and breakdowns.
- Proper preventive maintenance of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Minimum disruption to hospital operations.
- Timely completion of assigned maintenance work.
- Proper maintenance records and responsible use of materials.
- Strict adherence to safety procedures.

Working Conditions

The employee may be required to work in different areas of the hospital and attend urgent maintenance issues outside normal working hours when necessary. The role involves physical work, including inspection, repair and maintenance of electrical, plumbing and other facility systems.

Pay: ₹15,086.00 - ₹25,567.79 per month
