EHS Manager (Environment, Health & Safety) | Chennai
Working - 6 Days a week
At JLL, we are shaping the future of real estate for a better world. We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Manager to lead Environment, Health & Safety programs for a large corporate workplace in Chennai.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating operational risks, and promoting environmental sustainability across the site.
You will partner closely with clients, stakeholders, and operational teams to implement best-in-class EHS practices while ensuring a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace for employees, contractors, and visitors.
The ideal candidate is a strategic safety professional with strong technical expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a passion for creating resilient and sustainable workplaces.
What this Job Involves
Lead the implementation and management of Environment, Health & Safety programs across the site.
Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory, regulatory, and client-specific EHS requirements.
Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
Drive incident prevention, investigation, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
Develop and implement emergency preparedness and business continuity plans.
Manage contractor safety programs and ensure compliance with safe work practices.
Conduct EHS training, awareness programs, and safety campaigns.
Monitor environmental performance, waste management, energy conservation, and sustainability initiatives.
Prepare EHS reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for internal and client reviews.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Skills & Experience
8-12+ years of experience in Setting, Health & Safety within Corporate Real Estate, Facilities Management, Corporate, or Industrial environments.
Strong knowledge of occupational health & safety regulations, environmental compliance, and risk management practices.
Experience conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations, and contractor safety management.
Proven ability to develop and implement EHS management systems and safety programs.
Strong stakeholder engagement and client management skills.
Experience managing emergency response, fire safety, and crisis management programs.
Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to influence safety behaviors and drive a proactive safety culture.
Mandatory - ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Certification or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related discipline.
NEBOSH IGC / NEBOSH Diploma preferred.
Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety will be an added advantage.
Professional EHS certifications and memberships preferred.
