Ithis Hospital, Malappuram, Kerala is looking for an experienced and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our Labour Room / Maternity Department.
Position: Staff Nurse – Labour Room
Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of Labour Room experience preferred
Qualification: B.Sc Nursing / GNM
Registration: Valid Kerala Nursing & Midwifery Council registration
Location: Kizhakkethala, Malappuram, Kerala
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality nursing care to antenatal, labour and postnatal patients.
- Assist doctors during normal deliveries and emergency procedures.
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs during labour.
- Prepare patients and equipment for delivery procedures.
- Assist in normal delivery, C-section preparation and other obstetric procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor newborns immediately after delivery and assist with newborn care.
- Handle obstetric emergencies promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate nursing records and labour room documentation.
- Ensure proper sterilization, infection control and hygiene practices.
- Maintain and check emergency equipment and supplies.
- Provide emotional support and proper communication to patients and attendants.
Requirements
- B.Sc Nursing / GNM with valid nursing registration.
- Relevant Labour Room experience is preferred.
- Good knowledge of obstetric and emergency nursing procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including night duty.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
