We are looking for a responsible and proactive Safety Officer (Civil) to oversee health, safety and environmental practices at construction sites and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, project safety standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and monitor Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and procedures at construction sites.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory safety requirements and project-specific HSE standards.
- Monitor safety practices during RCC, shuttering/formwork, reinforcement, concreting, excavation, masonry and other civil construction activities.
- Ensure proper implementation of safety procedures for working at height, scaffolding, lifting operations, excavation and other high-risk activities.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings for workers, supervisors and subcontractors.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessments for construction activities.
- Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and correctly used by all personnel.
- Inspect PPE, scaffolding, ladders, barricading, access routes, safety nets, lifelines and other safety equipment.
- Monitor work-at-height activities and ensure proper use of safety harnesses, lifelines and edge protection.
- Monitor lifting operations and ensure secure practices for cranes, hoists and lifting equipment.
- Ensure proper barricading and safety arrangements around openings, excavations, shafts and hazardous areas.




- Conduct regular inspections of electrical installations, temporary power arrangements and construction equipment from a safety perspective.
- Identify safety violations and ensure immediate corrective action.
- Issue safety observations and assist in tracking closure of identified safety issues.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near-miss events and prepare detailed reports.
- Maintain records of safety inspections, toolbox talks, training, incidents and corrective actions.
- Conduct emergency preparedness drills and ensure workers understand emergency procedures.
- Ensure adequate fire prevention and fire-fighting arrangements at the project site.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and workers on safety-related matters.
- Conduct safety inductions for new workers, staff and subcontractors before they enter the site.
- Monitor housekeeping, waste management and safe material storage practices.
- Ensure safety signage, warning boards and emergency contact information are properly displayed.
- Assist management in preparing and implementing site-specific HSE plans and emergency response plans.
- Support internal and external safety audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the project site.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Safety or a related field.
- Recognized Diploma/Certificate in Industrial Safety / Construction Safety will be preferred.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in construction safety, preferably in large-scale residential or commercial projects.
- Strong practical knowledge of construction site safety practices.




- Experience with RCC and high-rise construction safety will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of applicable Indian safety regulations, standards and statutory requirements.
- Good understanding of risk assessment, JSA, toolbox talks and incident investigation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and enforce safety standards at site.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office / MS Excel.

Preferred Certifications

Candidates with certifications such as the following will be preferred:

- NEBOSH
- IOSH
- OSHA
- Diploma in Industrial Safety
- Construction Safety certification
- First Aid certification
- Fire & Safety certification

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in:

- High-rise residential construction
- Large-scale commercial projects
- RCC construction
- Working at height

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
