Roles and Responsibilities of a Junior Accounts Executive
A Junior Accounts Executive supports the accounting and finance department by handling routine accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and assisting senior team members with day-to-day financial operations.
1. Data Entry and Record Keeping
- Record daily financial transactions in accounting software.
- Maintain accurate and updated accounting records.
- File and organize invoices, receipts, and supporting documents.
- Assist in maintaining ledgers and journals.
2. Accounts Payable Support
- Process vendor invoices and payment requests.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and supporting documents.
- Assist in preparing payment schedules.
- Maintain supplier records and statements.
3. Accounts Receivable Support
- Generate customer invoices.
- Track incoming payments and outstanding balances.
- Follow up on overdue payments as directed.
- Update customer account records.
4. Bank Reconciliation
- Assist in reconciling bank statements with company records.
- Identify and report transaction discrepancies.
- Prepare reconciliation reports for review.
5. Financial Reporting Assistance
- Support the preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Compile financial data and documentation.
- Assist in preparing schedules for management review.

Tax and Compliance Support
- Help prepare documents for GST, TDS, VAT, or other tax filings.
- Maintain statutory records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting procedures.
7. Audit Assistance
- Organize records required for internal and external audits.
- Provide supporting documents requested by auditors.
- Assist in resolving audit queries.
8. Administrative Support
- Maintain petty cash records.
- Handle routine correspondence related to accounts.
- Coordinate with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
- Support senior accountants and finance managers in various tasks.
