Aerospace Operations Research Initiative (AORI) is a part-time, volunteer-led research initiative exploring specific operational problems in aerospace through research, data, modelling and systems thinking.
What you'll do
We are looking for someone who can help us identify and narrow down promising research opportunities in aerospace operations.
You will:
- Research existing processes, practices and literature to identify gaps and compelling problems.
- Break broad aerospace problems into specific, researchable questions.
- Identify potential areas where current processes could be improved or better understood.
- Speak with and engage like-minded engineers, researchers and students interested in contributing to the initiative.
- Help build a small community around promising research topics.
What we're looking for
Curiosity matters more than prior aerospace experience.
You could be from aerospace, mechanical engineering, operations research, systems engineering, data science, mathematics,
computer science or a related field.
We value people who:
- Enjoy finding problems rather than just solving predefined ones.
- Can independently research and investigate unfamiliar topics.
- Think critically and ask good questions.
- Are comfortable communicating with people and building a small research community.
Commitment
This is a part-time, volunteer position designed to be done alongside your studies or existing work. There is no salary or employment commitment.
Initially, the work will be primarily research, literature review, analysis and online collaboration. No physical aerospace infrastructure is required.
The goal: Find interesting aerospace problems worth spending years researching — and find the right people to research them with.
Pay: Up to ₹500.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 3.0 per week
Work Location: Remote
