Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and competent OT Staff Nurse with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Operation Theatre nursing. The candidate will be responsible for providing safe and effective nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures, maintaining OT standards, assisting the surgical team, and ensuring strict compliance with infection-control and patient-safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the Operation Theatre, instruments, equipment, and supplies before scheduled procedures.
- Perform pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and other members of the surgical team during procedures.
- Act as scrub nurse and/or circulating nurse as required.
- Ensure proper identification and preparation of patients before surgery.
- Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques throughout surgical procedures.
- Perform surgical instrument, sponge, needle, and swab counts before, during, and after procedures.
- Handle and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and OT supplies appropriately.
- Ensure proper sterilization, disinfection, and storage of instruments and equipment.
- Monitor and maintain OT stock, including surgical consumables, medications, and emergency supplies.
- Assist with positioning, preparation, and transfer of patients safely.
- Support the anesthesia team during induction, maintenance, and recovery as required.
- Monitor patients during the peri-operative period and promptly report any abnormal findings or emergencies.
- Follow hospital protocols for infection prevention, biomedical waste management, and patient safety.
- Maintain accurate OT records, surgical registers, checklists,



and documentation.
- Ensure readiness of emergency equipment, crash cart, and essential medications.
- Coordinate effectively with surgeons, anesthetists, CSSD, housekeeping, laboratory, and other departments.
- Participate in emergency and major surgical procedures when required.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and applicable nursing protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional and ethical conduct at all times.
- Participate in audits, training programs, quality-improvement initiatives, and continuing nursing education.

Required Qualifications

- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the relevant State Nursing Council.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Operation Theatre nursing, preferably in a multi-specialty hospital.
- Experience in handling major and minor surgical procedures.
- Good knowledge of surgical instruments, OT protocols, sterilization, and infection-control practices.
- Experience as a scrub and circulating nurse is preferred.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, ENT, Urology, Laparoscopic Surgery, Neurosurgery, or other specialty OTs will be preferred.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
