The Accounts Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting and financial activities of the hospital, maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting the Accounts Department in ensuring smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update daily accounting records and financial transactions.
- Handle cash, receipts, payments, and basic billing-related activities.
- Prepare and maintain invoices, vouchers, receipts, and supporting documents.
- Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Verify bills, invoices, purchase documents, and payment requests.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
- Assist with daily cash reconciliation and bank reconciliation.
- Enter accounting data accurately into the accounting software/system.
- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Coordinate with departments regarding bills, payments, and financial documentation.
- Monitor outstanding payments and assist in follow-up when required.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and patient-related information.
- Assist the Accounts In-Charge / Finance Manager with other accounting tasks as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with hospital financial procedures and internal policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance or equivalent qualification.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
- Knowledge of accounting software is preferred.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly.
Experience
- 0–1 years of experience in accounting or finance is preferred.
