Job Title: Student Support Coordinator
Department: Student Services / Academic Affairs
Reports To: Student Services Manager / Head of Student Affairs
Location: Remote / Online
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Purpose

The Student Support Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative, pastoral, and academic support to students throughout their educational journey. The role involves acting as a key point of contact for students, coordinating support services, monitoring student engagement and wellbeing, and working closely with academic and administrative teams to ensure a positive student experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Support & Guidance

- Serve as the primary point of contact for students regarding academic, administrative, and general support enquiries.
- Provide guidance to students on institutional policies, procedures, services, and available support resources.
- Identify students who may require additional academic, personal, or wellbeing support and coordinate appropriate assistance.
- Maintain regular communication with students to understand their concerns and support their progression.
- Handle student concerns professionally, confidentially, and in a timely manner.
- Refer complex cases to the appropriate academic, wellbeing, safeguarding, or management teams.

Student Engagement & Retention

- Monitor student attendance, engagement, participation, and overall progress.
- Follow up with students who demonstrate poor attendance, disengagement, or other indicators of concern.
- Support initiatives designed to improve student retention, satisfaction, engagement, and academic success.
- Organise student orientation, induction, workshops, information sessions, and engagement activities.
- Encourage students to make effective use of academic and support services.

Administration & Coordination





- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and case-management documentation.
- Coordinate appointments, meetings, referrals, and follow-ups between students and relevant departments.
- Assist with student surveys, feedback collection, and student satisfaction initiatives.
- Prepare reports and updates relating to student engagement, attendance, support cases, and outcomes.
- Ensure student enquiries and cases are tracked through to appropriate resolution.
- Support the implementation of student-related policies and procedures.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

- Develop positive working relationships with students, academic staff, programme teams, parents/guardians where appropriate, and external support providers.
- Work collaboratively with admissions, academic, finance, careers, wellbeing, and other student-facing departments.
- Communicate clearly and professionally through email, telephone, meetings, and face-to-face interactions.
- Escalate serious or sensitive matters in accordance with institutional policies.

Safeguarding & Confidentiality

- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling student information.
- Follow all institutional safeguarding, data protection, health and safety, and student welfare procedures.
- Report safeguarding or serious welfare concerns promptly through the appropriate channels.
- Maintain accurate records of student support interventions and referrals.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in student services,



education administration, customer service, pastoral support, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple student cases and priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
- Valuable working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or relevant student management systems.

Desirable:

- Experience working within a school, college, university, training provider, or educational organisation.
- Experience in student welfare, safeguarding, counselling support, or academic advising.
- Knowledge of student engagement and retention practices.
- Experience working with students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.

- Positive collaboration with academic and administrative teams.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
