EarthEn Energy is building the future of long-duration energy storage through its innovative Heat Battery technology. Our packed-bed thermal energy storage system is designed to help industries improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions.

We are a highly technical team backed by the U.S. Department of Energy, with engineering partnerships including Halliburton, Black & Veatch, Sandia National Laboratories, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. We are now scaling from R&D; toward commercialization.

About the Role

We are looking for a CAD & Design Engineer to take ownership of component-level design for our Heat Battery. The role involves 3D modelling, CFD/thermal simulation, detailed engineering drawings, and collaboration with manufacturing teams.

What You’ll Do

- Design and detail components such as heat exchangers, pressure vessels, thermal assemblies, and integration hardware
- Develop 3D models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA
- Perform CFD and thermal simulations using ANSYS Fluent
- Create manufacturing-ready 2D drawings with GD&T;, tolerances, and BOMs
- Work with manufacturing vendors to ensure designs are practical and production-ready
- Incorporate fabrication feedback and improve designs where required




- Collaborate with the US engineering team on design reviews and system integration

What We’re Looking For

- Solid proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA
- Hands-on experience with ANSYS Fluent for CFD/thermal simulations
- Proven experience creating manufacturing-ready drawings
- Strong understanding of GD&T;, tolerance analysis, and DFM
- Experience with thermal/process equipment, such as heat exchangers, process equipment, or thermal storage
- Practical understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes

Preferred Experience

- Background in heavy engineering, EPC, oil & gas, or process equipment
- Experience with pressure vessels, packed-bed systems, or high-temperature thermal equipment
- Familiarity with FEA (structural/thermal) alongside CFD
- Experience working in startups or small engineering teams
- Comfortable collaborating with international/cross-timezone engineering teams
