Job Profile:

We are seeking a passionate, technically competent, and highly driven Program Manager / Project Manager – Research & Development to lead, design, and manage our evolving sustainable technology and clean energy portfolios.

Bindi International operates on the fundamental belief that women must be at the forefront of economic and social development.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Technical Framework Design and Model Development

● Develop comprehensive and adaptable operational blueprints, safety manuals, and playbooks for decentralized technology assembly and maintenance.

● Ensure all R&D innovations are scalable, reliable, and replicable across diverse last-mile rural contexts spanning multiple states.

● Align R&D; project delivery pathways with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

2. In-House Battery Pack Production & Quality Control ("Bindi Shakti Battery")

● Lead and optimize technical operations for the in-house battery pack assembly unit, standardizing production for five core configurations.

● Supervise quality standards, safety thresholds, and technical compliance across multiple cell chemistries:

○ NMC Configurations – 3.7V–7.8Ah cells for micro-lighting systems; 36V (7.8Ah/10Ah) battery

packs for light electric vehicles.

○ LFP Configurations – 12.8V (30Ah & 42Ah) battery packs optimized for Solar Home Systems and emergency power storage.

● Implement strict hardware validation protocols, including Internal Resistance (IR) testing, spot-welding uniformity checks, high/low voltage cutoff verification, and thermal safety cycling.

● Establish frameworks to prototype, test, and manufacture custom battery packs based on client specifications for E-Bicycles, E-Bikes, E-Scooters, and E-Rickshaws.

3. E-Mobility Platform Integration & Optimization ("Sakthi Cycle")

● Coordinate end-to-end engineering, Bill of Materials (BOM), and assembly workflows for the Sakthi Cycle e-mobility platform.

● Ensure component compatibility and performance integration across 250W BLDC hub motors, 36V smart controllers, 6-magnet Pedal Assist Sensors (PAS), and dual disc braking systems.

● Validate performance and safety standards in compliance with regulatory norms, including a maximum speed limit of 25 km/h and a target operational range of 40–50 km.

● Adapt high-tensile carbon steel chassis designs for rugged rural usage, optimizing heavy-duty cargo carriers, integrated lighting systems, and horn systems.

4. Training, Capacity Building, and Field Deployment

● Translate complex engineering specifications, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic manuals into accessible, visual training modules.

● Conduct continuous capacity-building workshops for rural women engineers to enhance their confidence and competence in electrical troubleshooting, field repairs, and hardware safety.

● Support field teams during regional pilot deployments to ensure successful implementation and long-term sustainability.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Compliance

● Establish robust testing frameworks and product lifecycle tracking systems to monitor battery degradation, field failure rates, and product performance over time.

● Ensure all manufactured systems comply with relevant industrial certifications and standards, including IS 16045 and BIS requirements.

● Analyze field performance data to continuously refine and improve hardware engineering designs.

6. Stakeholder Management & Documentation

● Build and maintain robust collaborative relationships among internal execution teams, external component suppliers, B2B enterprise clients, and institutional partners.

● Maintain accurate technical records, assembly documentation, progress trackers, and case studies demonstrating technological impact on rural livelihood generation.

Preferred Qualifications

- Candidates passionate about social enterprise and women-led development models.
- Comfortable working autonomously and building operational processes from the ground up without relying on predefined corporate structures.
- Willing to relocate to or stay in Harmada (Kishangarh, Rajasthan) for the duration of the role, with flexibility to travel intermittently to remote field clusters.
- Conversational proficiency in Hindi, in addition to strong English communication skills, for effective interaction with local assembly teams.

Key Skills and Competencies
