JOB DESCRIPTION – TGT ENGLISH TEACHER

Educational Qualification

- Master’s Degree (M.A.) in English from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution/university.
- Candidates must have a strong command of English language, grammar, literature, reading, writing, and communication skills.
- CBSE school experience will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons as per the CBSE curriculum.
- Teach English language and literature concepts according to the prescribed syllabus.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, question papers, assignments, and other teaching-learning materials.
- Develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.
- Use innovative and activity-based teaching methodologies to make learning effective and engaging.
- Conduct regular assessments, class tests, assignments, and examinations.
- Evaluate students’ academic performance and maintain accurate assessment records.
- Provide constructive feedback and appropriate remedial support to students.
- Identify students who require additional academic support and implement suitable strategies.
- Encourage students to participate in debates, elocution, creative writing, storytelling, reading activities, and other literary activities.
- Maintain proper classroom discipline and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Integrate technology and digital teaching tools wherever appropriate.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and communicate students’ academic progress professionally.
- Maintain student records, academic documentation, and other departmental records.
- Collaborate with colleagues and coordinators for curriculum planning and academic activities.
- Participate actively in school events, celebrations, workshops, training programmes,



and co-curricular activities.
- Follow all academic, administrative, and disciplinary policies of the school.
- Contribute to the overall academic development, values, communication skills, and personality development of students.

- Strong knowledge of English grammar and literature.
- Strong classroom management and student-handling skills.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively.

- Proficiency in using MS Office, Google Workspace, smart classroom tools, and other educational technology.

Experience

- Minimum 5–6 years of relevant teaching experience as an English Teacher/TGT in a reputed school.
- Experience in a CBSE school will be highly preferred.
- Candidates with experience handling middle and secondary classes will be preferred.
