Job Summary

The Housekeeping Faculty is responsible for teaching and training students in all aspects of hotel housekeeping operations, including room cleaning, public area maintenance, laundry operations, linen management, hygiene, safety, and housekeeping supervision. The faculty member will combine theoretical knowledge with practical training to prepare students for careers in the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Teaching & Academic Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom lectures on Housekeeping and Hospitality-related subjects.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, presentations, assignments, and practical activities.
- Explain housekeeping concepts, procedures, standards, and hotel practices.
- Conduct internal assessments, tests, viva, and examinations.
- Evaluate student performance and maintain academic records.
- Practical Training
- Provide practical training in hotel room cleaning and maintenance.
- Demonstrate bed-making, bathroom cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and room inspection procedures.
- Train students in linen room and laundry operations.
- Teach the proper use, storage, and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.
- Conduct demonstrations of cleaning chemicals and their safe usage.
- Housekeeping Operations
- Teach room division and housekeeping department functions.
- Explain cleaning schedules, room status, inspection procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Train students in public area cleaning and maintenance.
- Teach inventory control, linen control, and housekeeping supplies management.
- Explain coordination between Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance departments.
- Safety,



Hygiene & Security
- Train students in workplace safety and hygiene standards.
- Explain protected handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Teach fire safety, emergency procedures, and accident prevention.
- Promote professional grooming, personal hygiene, and workplace discipline.
- Student Development
- Guide students in practical projects, assignments, and industry-related activities.
- Provide career guidance and industry-oriented training.
- Develop students' communication, teamwork, leadership, and professional skills.
- Support students during industrial training, internships, and hotel visits.
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance and academic records.
- Maintain practical laboratory/housekeeping equipment records.
- Prepare practical examination materials and question papers.
- Participate in departmental meetings and institute activities.
- Perform other academic duties assigned by the Head of Department/Institute Management.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Hotel Housekeeping operations.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Practical knowledge of cleaning procedures and housekeeping equipment.
- Knowledge of hotel standards, hygiene, safety, and sanitation.
- Ability to train and motivate students.
- Good classroom management and organizational skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and documentation skills.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hotel Management / Hospitality Management / Hotel Administration or a related field.
- Relevant industry experience in the Housekeeping department will be an added advantage.

Experience

- Previous experience in hotel housekeeping teaching Min 2 years will be preferred.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
