Job Summary
We are looking for a hardworking and skilled Chef/Cook to manage food preparation and cooking at our food cart. The ideal candidate should be able to prepare food quickly and consistently while maintaining good taste, hygiene, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standard recipes and portion sizes.
- Handle food preparation, cutting, marination, cooking, and plating/packing.
- Maintain consistent taste and quality of all dishes.
- Manage cooking during busy hours and handle multiple orders efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the cooking and serving area.
- Check freshness and quality of ingredients.
- Minimize food wastage and maintain proper portion control.
- Monitor stock of ingredients and inform the owner/manager when supplies are low.
- Properly store food and ingredients according to hygiene standards.
- Follow food safety and cleanliness procedures.
- Help with opening and closing the food cart and basic cleaning duties.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a cook/chef is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic food hygiene and safe cooking practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of cooking techniques and ingredient handling.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays when required.
