What Youll Be Doing (position summary):
The QE Manager is responsible for establishing the QA team. Initiate the knowledge transition process and define KPIs. The role requires test delivery from offshore involving mentoring employees, and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth. The Manager collaborates with BA, Business, Development team to plan and deliver the initiatives. Manage Business as-usual QA deliverables. Accountable to set the KPI benchmark and maintain/improve the KPIs.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):
Quality Strategy, Delivery and Governance:
- Develop and implement QA/QE strategies, standards, and best practices for the payments hub and wire payments platform to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Lead quality assurance and quality control activities across enterprise payments initiatives to support secure, stable, and compliant payment processing solutions.
- Oversee end-to-end test planning, execution, and reporting for project and business-as-usual initiatives to ensure timely and effective delivery.
- Establish QA/QE benchmarks, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to measure delivery performance and drive continuous improvement.
Test Management and Execution:
- Oversee the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts for manual and automated testing across payment features, integrations, and platform enhancements.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage for functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing to reduce production risk and improve solution quality.
- Manage test data and test environment requirements to support effective validation of complex payment workflows and system integrations.
- Coordinate offshore test delivery and knowledge transition activities to ensure continuity, productivity, and alignment with business priorities.
Automation and Process Improvement:
- Drive adoption and enhancement of test automation frameworks for API and UI testing to improve test efficiency, reliability, and repeatability.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, team productivity, and operational effectiveness.
- Promote the use of innovative tools, practices, and evolving technologies to strengthen QA/QE capability and delivery outcomes.
- Maintain and improve KPI performance through proactive monitoring, issue resolution, and optimization of QA processes.
Compliance, Risk and Issue Management:
- Ensure testing activities adhere to applicable regulatory, audit, security,
and control requirements to support compliant payment processing solutions.
- Validate payment workflows against local and international standards, including RTR, SWIFT, and ISO 20022 messaging requirements.
- Monitor, track, and report defects, issues, risks, and test results to support informed decision-making and timely resolution.
- Partner with development, product, and business teams to triage defects and mitigate quality risks prior to implementation.
People Management:
- Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals roles support the achievement of the business units priorities and CIBCs overall goals.
- Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training.
- Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance and by explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities.
- Create a positive work environment and being an effective role model by championing CIBCs mission, vision and values.
- Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect.
- Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Collaborate with product, development, and operations teams to ensure end-to-end quality and compliance of payment solutions.
- Interact with internal stakeholders, including business analysts, product owners, and technology teams, to gather requirements and provide expertise.
- Work closely with external vendors and partners as required for payment platform integrations, compliance, and testing.
- Compliant with audit requirements for QA deliverables

JOB DIMENSIONS:
- Accountable for establishing and leading the QA/QE function for payments technology initiatives.
- Manages hiring, team formation, and capability development for the QA/QE team.
- Oversees offshore test delivery and knowledge transition activities.
- Accountable for setting QA/QE performance benchmarks and managing productivity KPIs.
- Supports testing across payment domains including wires, e-transfer, ACH, EFT, bill payments, and cheques.
Experience: 10+ years of experience
Who You Are (skills/qualifications):
Education-Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Must Have Skills:
- 10+ years of QA experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Experience with wire payments, payments hub, banking, or financial services platforms.
- Strong experience in wire payments, payments hub, banking, or financial services platforms.
- Strong knowledge of QA fundamentals and test management practices.
- Knowledge of payment types and processes, including wires, e-transfer, ACH, EFT, bill payments, and cheques.
- Strong understanding of payment message formats and standards including MT103, pain, pacs, camt, SWIFT, ISO 20022, RTR, and large value payments.
- Experience with test data management and test environment management.
- Experience with incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Experience working in Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Excellentleadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Good to Have:
- Knowledge of digital transformation programs with QA/QE Acumen.
- To have automation basics on Playwright, Typescript
- Knowledge of Agile and Dev Ops methodologies are an added advantage.
- Understanding of large value payments and Wires, SWIFT, ISO 20022, LVTS/Lynx , RTR is also an asset.
- Certification in QA, such as ISTQB or Agile certification, is preferred.
