We are seeking an experienced Test Analyst with a strong background in the banking domain, particularly in retail banking and Signature mainframe Core Banking Software Application. You will be responsible for designing, developing and executing test strategies and plans for business-critical banking applications. The role demands in-depth domain knowledge, excellent analytical skills and hands-on experience with legacy systems.
Responsibilities:
- Understand business and system requirements for Core Banking (Retail) products and services.
- Design and document test strategies, test plans, test cases, Test Summary Reports and test data based on business and technical requirements.
- Execute manual and automated test cases across various phases of testing – System, Integration and UAT.
- Perform backend testing on mainframe systems, including validation of batch processes and data.
- Participate in requirement and design reviews to identify and mitigate potential quality issues early.
- Work closely with business analysts, developers and project managers to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Analyze test results and raise transparent and concise defects when appropriate.
- Lead defect triage meetings and manage the defect lifecycle through resolution.
- Provide test estimates, track progress and report testing metrics.
- Ensure compliance with QA processes and standards.
- Mentor junior test analysts and support knowledge sharing across teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to carry out test design reviews and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Automate manual test cases as part of the sprint and build a robust automation test suite.
- 5+ years of experience in QA/testing with a focus on Retail Banking/Financial Services.
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Signature Mainframe Core Banking Software Applications.
- Strong mortgage domain knowledge, including origination, servicing, underwriting and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in data migration testing.
- Experience working on critical production issues.
- Experience with batch job testing, file validations and data reconciliation.
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as qTest and JIRA.
- Strong SQL skills for data validation and test data preparation.
- Experience in test plan and test summary report preparation.
- Exposure to Agile, Waterfall and SDLC methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and lead testing efforts for projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Knowledge of various automation tools and/or comparable technologies such as TOSCA, Selenium or Playwright.
Additional Requirements:
- Core Banking experience is mandatory.
- Fiserv Signature experience is preferred.
- Preference for candidates based in Bengaluru or Pune.
