AutoCAD Design Engineer for Mechanical Assemblies Job Description/: The AutoCAD Design Engineer in Manufacturing Industries is responsible for creating, modifying, and managing detailed 2D technical drawings, mechanical layouts, component schematics, and manufacturing assembly blueprints. Working closely with product development, tooling, fabrication, and production teams, this role translates conceptual designs and engineering specifications into accurate manufacturing drawings, maintaining strict drafting standards, GD&T; compliance, and revision control across the product lifecycle Key Duties/: Create, edit, and adjust detailed 2D technical, manufacturing, assembly, and exploded drawings using AutoCAD. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing /(GD&T;/) principles, material specifications, surface finish symbols, and welding notes according to international standards /(ISO/ASME/). Collaborate with tooling, sheet metal, machining,



and foundry teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability /(DFM/) and assembly /(DFA/). Prepare, update, and manage bills of materials /(BOMs/), engineering change orders /(ECOs/), and component bills of materials for ERP/PLM systems. Perform comprehensive dimensional tolerance analysis and validation checks on existing drawings to eliminate factory assembly installation issues. Perform field measurements and physical reverse engineering of existing equipment components to digitize accurate 2D models and CAD drawings. Maintains organized drawing archives, building block libraries, title blocks, and versioned design repositories according to company quality standards.
